im on the fence as well, will some nanotech 4s 2200 35-70C work in either?...I saw Daniel running the 3250 rhinos, just not sure if the lower capacity will suffice.

yup, that pack should work with either... just a matter of selecting the right motor/prop for your pack to get the power you want.

4s 2200 is perfect for the 48" exp's and velox/vr-1. You will get about 7 minute flights.

I think it's important to know these two planes you are trying to compare are much, much different in their flying characteristics. One is not better than the other but may be better for your flying style.

The Velox is short coupled (I think it's called). In other words it's shorter then the edge and will tumble and knife edge spin like crazy. The short coupling makes it pitch sensitive so it doesn't track as well as the edge. The edge wont tumble or ke spin as aggresively but tracks awsome. So you need to decide what type of flying you like. If your not sure get the one you like the looks of the most.

A better comparison to the velox would be the mxs. Better comparison to the edge would be the slick.

I have both and love both. You can't go wrong with either of them but like the previous poster said very different flying characteristics. If you could somehow mate them you would have the most versatile 4' plane ever. Since we can't you need both

Thanks for everyone's input. Maybe I should have been clear up front that I was not seeking the superior of the two, or that there could even be one, but instead exactly what everyone is doing - distinguishing one from the other.

I have yet to get an EF frame, while I have had a few 3DHS and a couple PA's, and between those two it seems to me that the PA's tend to be lighter and floatier, a bit more of a handful on a windy day, yet surprisingly stable, esp off-throttle, given their weight; while the 3DHS seem more precise, hold a line better, and I find a bit easier for a beginner like myself - and it's doubtful I will progress much further, but I'm having fun.

And, now I would like to try a Velox (black of course) and a red/yellow Edge EXP. I'm just trying to decide which to get first and wanted to know a little more about them - and I'm sure enjoying the decision process.

Steve, I don't have either of these planes, but have had planes from all three manufacturers.

My experience has been that the EF and 3DHS planes are heavier and more durable than the PA planes.

Thanks, I'm thinking I'll try the Edge EXP next. Just waiting for the motor to restock.....and the right opportunity to catch my wife at a weak moment.
