Really cool thread-electric ultralight using HK gear
The designer of the Lazair twin engine ultralight is building an electric conversion which is eye-opening to say the least
He is using "Two 10 kw Turnigy CA120-70 motors with 32-12 props reconfigured to WYE terminations and 96 pieces of Zippy 5000 mah cells arranged in 6 packs of 16s4p each "
Check out the batteries!
BTW, In answer to the cynics who assume HK products are crap, he found ZERO DOA batteries. "The average DeltaV for all 104 batteries was only 7mv and the max DeltaV was 90mv followed by 36,36,35,27mv and the rest were under 20mv DeltaV. Standard deviation was 10mv. Much better than anticipated."

Those motors look quite serious. They have 2 sets of phase wires.
The line between RC hobby parts and aviation parts are thinning and eventually will blur.
