My MXS died today. Lost it in a KE Harrier, went nose in hard. Fuse is toast, motor is too. Anyone have a source for parts, or should I rekit? I have some good parts left I might sell. Fuse was the main damage. I dont think it can be fixed, firewall is smashed. Wings, tail, and canopy are good.

A sad day for you, I am sure .

Nac got some video of my first V2 MXS kit last weekend. It flies very similarly to the V1 MXS as far as I can tell.

Skywing 48" MXS V2 - This Plane Rocks! (1 min 42 sec)

I just ordered a new one from BestValueRC, mine is getting pretty beat up and I need a backup. It still flies great but I am having some issues with the stupid filter when flying this plane. It's just so capable it's hard not to push it beyond my capability. now we need the scale Edge and the 55" Slick, they are next on my list so hurry up.

EDIT: I got most of the answers here
After a lot of confusion between MXS V2 and 330LX, finally ordered the MXS V2 from BestValueRC. Coming from the heli background and this being my first plane, hope it will be a lot of fun. Here is my configuration:

1)Motor: FSD 920KV
2)Servos: MG-14. As I already have some.
3)Battery: I already have 1800, 2200 4S 40C and 2200 3S 45 and 65 C nanotechs.
4)ESC: Plush 60. Plush 40 is just half the weight, but I really dont want to see the white magic smoke.
5)RX: FrSky 8 channel FASST RX to go with my futaba 8fgh.
6)Prop: I believe it would be better if some of you suggest for the motor I mentioned.
7)I have big wheels to if I have to upgrade to a bigger prop.

Please advise on the above configuration and prop size for 3S and 4S.

Thanks.
Vinay

I am sure the motor will work well with APC-E 13 X 6.5, probably draw about 40A.

First plane ever? You're game

Suggest going with a 13x4 at 3S for a while, until you get your bearings. The low-down grunt it produces can help get the plane out of trouble.

Also, it would be better to try to push that shaft through the motor, so that it sticks out the front of the plane in a radial mount configuration, instead of relying on those bolt-on adapters. The bolt-on jobbies do work, but compared to shafts they're easier to bend (being alloy as opposed to steel) and harder and more expensive to replace.

For this type of 3D plane you've got to figure the prop will be digging for truffles sooner rather than later, so a hardened steel prop shaft an the ability to replace it cheaply and easily are somewhat important.

Good luck. I'm sure you'll enjoy the MXS.

To be frank my first plane is a tek sumo epp wing. Should I even call it a plane? I did 3 flights few weeks back for the first time. Man its so boring. Dont feel like flying it frequently. It does not even have a rudder.

I wanted to know all the size of props so that I can order at once, shipping to India every now and then is very expensive.

Thanks will post videos in 3 weeks time.

So I have short listed, 13X6.5 , 14X7(Not full time) for 3S and 13X4(3S/4S) and 12X6 for 4S. Any other suggestions?
