a cheap lightweight and really unbreakable landing gear for my quad

it's a plastic deformable support for flower pot found in a store at 3 euros ;-)

just fixed on quad arm with risland.

My contribution here, a nice looking dumper made from an unusual piece of gear

The hole of these spares for painting roller brush is 6mm in EU, and I guess 1/4" in US.
Inside there is a rubber garnish, which has a tight fit on the pipe of the popular 450 heli landing skid, which is 1/4"

The picture will tell the rest.

Hello pilots!

For my tricopter I made the landing gear with polyethylene cutting board and carbon rods. A little heavy but very efficient to dampen during hard landings. It saved my camera several times...

I made myself EPP foam landing gear by cutting it to shape and laminating it and covering it with coloured tape.

They seem to work really well at absorbing hard landings and being semicircular and stuck on the ends of the arms if i land at a bit of an angle the quadcopter doesn't topple over.

The quadcopter in that picture was crashed months ago now but i reused the landing gear which are still fine.

I took some more pictures whilst i made them;

these are my favorite:

its 4in pvc cut into 1/4in circle strips. then cut in one place and straightened out with hot air gun so that they can be more easily mounted. they dont obstucry air flow, nice and bouncy and are easily taken off.

foam pipe insulation tricopter

Here's my tricopter, which uses foam pipe insulation on the arms, for flotation just in case I fly over water. The landing gear are also made with foam insulation, they are also shock mounted with rubber band for hard lateral landings. The prop savers are made from a $1 store hula hoop. Btw, the double savers on the tail makes it real easy to see where the tail is.

Here's mine. The whiffle balls have an added benefit besides very light and easy mounting, if motors spin in the wrong direction they make a whicked howling sound.

Almost no cost!

How about no cost. Two hangers from Walmart and zip ties.

Quadcopter landing gear

This is what I came up with just recently. I bought these woman's hair bands and came up with this. It has a pretty good bounce to it. Is too much bounce bad? This is my first quad build so I don't know. Electronics are soon to come and I hope it holds.
