Looks like another one I'll want in my hangar. It's a bit lighter than the Beast, and the wingloading is very low. Should be a great backyard flier. Airfoil looks to be more like the XP, and the separate servos are a welcome change. Plus - I already have a fistful of Hyp 180 & 240 2s packs that I use in my two Beasts.

We shot video footage yesterday before I headed to SEFF. Should be up soon. A few notes.
Weight is similar to the Beast. its 53 to 55g w/o battery/ Speed is also similar, though it looks faster. Very sleek lines. Vertical is very big, excellent power. Its not a 3D airplane. More of a precision model. Hard to hover, though power is plenty and it'll rocket out of a high alpha . I prefer it with the larger SFGs. Has really big rudder power with them. Square KE loops, high alpha KE etc. Its a blast. Both the Sbach and UMX Beast are. Quique and I had a great evening here flying each of them several flights right before dark. |
