What's your problem with the tent??? I absolutely love it, and was using it again this morning, to keep my hand perfectly warm, while I was flying in a nice 20F temperature. Would not have missed the first few hours without wind in about 2 months. If I had to list my top 3 "must have" accessories, it would likely make the list! (just after my cell monitor and my wattmeter and my servo tester! Ok, make that top 4?)

+1!

Over the years, my flying days would have been cut in half without a transmitter mitt. Can't fly when you can't feel your fingers - and frostbite really sucks...

RCBabbel is probably one of those guys (wussie? from Idaho??? ) who fly only if the weather is between 68F and 74F, and there's no wind. Another bonus for the tent is being able to fly if it's raining. Or to put down your transmitter on 2 feet of snow without getting it wet.

I like your pickup tent idea though! Drive to the field, sleep there while waiting for the sun to wake up, and fly straight from my pickup tent without even getting out of my sleeping bag. Ya, that's it, I'm buying a pickup and the tent that goes with it! Hardest thing will be to learn to land on that small pickup gate...

Tent that's it I need a full body tent... For keeping the mosquitoes off me when flying at the cottage.. Or maybe even a spacesuit so that I can be warm or cool and bug free for year round use..

Never had a TX mitt but have some gloves with just the finger tips exposed. That and those hand warmers in the pocket keep paws and lipos warm on those cold days

Actually what I ended up doing this pass winter was wearing surgical gloves.. I found that I still had a good feel of the sticks and they kept the wind off my hands so that I was able to get 10 minutes flights in without hands going numb.. Also would hang the TX on the gear shifter in front of the trucks header vent and warm it up before a flight..
