Don,
This is my 3rd plane. I had a Cessna trainer and now I own a Durafly P-51 and a Kyosho P-51 (it's a used one, gift from my fried, never flew it since i would like to gain more skills on epo planes). Not much experience, but both planes are still alive. I tried to read the whole tread, but there are 50+ pages, so I wanted to make a kind of a summary. Noted about thr 14x7 prop and 2650lipo. |

Some folks have found that the 3300 LiPo fits better. I don't know. I took a week of part time reading and got through it all. Yep 50+ pages. At least then I had an idea 'cause I didn't want to bug these folks too much until I knew what questions I needed/wanted to ask. Great bunch here, but do try to get it read if you can. BTW, the manual sucks. In the pages somewhere, last half for sure, is a link to a better manual. I copied it to my desktop. I came into the computer room to look something up on that link but got sidetracked and here I am! You getting it from HK USA? I did 'cause the wait is shorter and the shipping is faster and cheaper. Don't think it really costs much more when all is totalled up.
Don Just looked and it seems you are in Russia? That would mean HK, China might be better for shipping anyway! Your English is flawless, are you Russian by birth? |

Don,
Thank you for the hint about the manual, will do a search. Yes, I'm from Russia and the plane was ordered from China, hope it will arrive soon and without any damages. Thank you for the compliments regarding my English, I work for an American company (Kraft), this explains it all. |

So I guess you speak with a Russian American accent and type in the Queen's English. Multi cultural or what!!

OK, big, important question here!
I have several low to mid wing planes and most balance from the top of the wing .. plane upside down. BUT I also have one that balances right side up. I looked in the manual, as well as the on-line version, and they show the balance point but it is not even close to clear whether it is up or down. I checked both ways, and right side up it is a bit nose heavy, turn it upside down and it is tail heavy. Soooo, I need to know which way to aclimate it for correct CG. The 2650 battery is about 3/4" in front of the spar. I remember reading in long past posts that folks were having far differing battery placements to get CG'd. Is it possible that some folks are using upside, and others using downside to get their CG? If so, OMG there are some planes that are probably waaaay out of best CG. This time I don't need my usual handholding, I really need a good answer. Thanks! Don I just posted this and had NO idea that text would be so big. And I can't change it with the edit function. My apology to you all. |

Also ... I feel sooooo stupid. I was an air traffic controller for 40+ yrs so I shouldn't be stupid. But, I printed the program info for the ESC, took it up to the hangar to do the progamming, and it is going nowhere! I got the stick movement goofed in the very beginning, so I disconnected the battery, went for a cool off time on the patio, and tried again. Instead of going to the 1st menu with a tone and beeps to get you to the sub options, it is stuck on 2 music notes and the series of beeps. Since it seems stuck there, I thought, OK I'll keep going. But now it won't select anything and goes right back to the 2 notes and the beeps. I want to start over to ensure I got the battery cell count correct and go on from there. I am concerned that I got that very 1st step screwed up. I want to start over. Should I just let it sit for a few minutes and give it a go, or am I stuck where I am and might goof the ESC by having things set wrong. If someone would like to call me, or give me your ph#, let me know. I hesitate to post my ph# here, but would PM it to someone. Jeeeeez I feel so frustrated.

FWIW I Balanced my plane inverted and it flies perfect for my taste, ie. hardly any 'down' elevator is need when inverted and the plane does flat spins easily.
