Jury rigged my MK USB-ttl to work with the Tiny OS D cable . Took a bit of fiddling but finally got it to connect by changing the com port from 4 to 10 and running FVP software in XP mode on my win7-64bit machine.
? If I'm running 4s do I need to 16.8 (fully charged) for the voltage calibrate in the upper right or leave it the default 12.2, OR change it to the 14.8 standard lipo voltage? Sorry bur can't seem tot find this info anywhere? I do have a Watts-Up I can pur inline to measure actual voltage etc if necessary?

Neal: Thanks, I found the tutorial. Actually my voltage was not being displayed, the first 4-5 times I tested it, but today...bingo....and it worked again after that. And I didn't even calibrate it yet. So I guess it was some weird glitch. I left it on 12.2v but it did show my 16.8v...finally.
Gremlins...get cha' every time!

Does the GPS wire have to face "forward" (like the Naza) for it to measure properly?

If anyone has some serial converters laying around this one also does the trick.
The extra GPS cable was used. Note that the red + power line is not to be connected.
For anyone interested this is the definition of the RX TX line colors.
Works great at 115K baud.

The Naza has a compass built with the gps module.
That is the reason direction is important on the Naza.
The most important thing I do with any gps rcvr is separate
as far as possible from a nearby video transmitter if using it with FPV.

Earthorbitoer: thanks! Since I didn't see anything about it in the manual or anywhere online I thought direction of the GPS must not be important. I put the GPS out on the arm as far as possible without being under a prop. Seems like everything needs to be as far as possible from everything else...lol

Using the Hobbyking Tiny OSD. It seems they are selling them for Skylark with the HK branded.
It has a barometer, and all the features of the Skylark OSD III hardware wise.
After digging some information this unit can be programmed with firmware V 2.8 from:

The Skylark website download seems to work with this build except for the flight summary option.
I also noticed that the calibration works way better with the 2.8 from skylark.
So if you are using this OSD upgrade to V 2.8 then calibrate according to this URL.

Any guru's out there able to help me with a cropping issue? I'm quite new to FPV so I have no idea where the issue lies.

Long story short, I've jammed this OSD (HK Tiny OSD variety) in and the OSD is cropped at the bottom so I don't see the voltage, mAh draw, distance and direction to home. This is all pretty important info so I'd rather it be displayed. I've attached a screenshot of what I can see, it's almost like it's overlaid itself too far from the top of frame.

My gear:
Fat Shark Predator 5.8ghz (integrated rx)
ImmersionRC 5.8ghz 600mW TX
Fat shark Pan/Tilt, 420TVL NTSC cam
Hobbyking Tiny OSD

Any ideas where the weakest link is?

mrlanders: Mine does that too! I think it is actually not displaying the data at all. If I unplug the power and then then replug it often works when it reinitializes. Not sure if it has something to do with not getting a lock with the GPS or not. Watch you initialization sequence.

This comes from powering the osd first then the cam. Solution is simple just hit reset on the osd after the system is all turned on
