Yeah, I do like the charger, but do look up some reviews on all of them. Bang for buck, the ac680 is good.

Oh, there is a world of difference in the 9104/9117 and the 9118. Coxial to fixed pitch is the next logical step. Look back in the forum and see the mods some have done to the 9104. The weak link is the tail motor which seem to burn out too quick. The Honey Bee direct drive tail is the best option for better control and it will last longer. I think I have gone as far as I can, but I did want to try to build a direct drive variable pitch as I did for my 450. I have to find a tail holder that fits the boom. Maybe when I finish the mods on my 450, I will try.

No, the 9104 is about the size of a 250. If you look back, I do have a picture of my two together.

Hi

I'm new to the 9104. It flies really nicely except that the forward motion is poor, and the swash plate looks and acts average as well. I have seen comments about upgrading the swash plate, however I do not want to upgrade to a 4th channel yet. Do you have a recomendation for swash plate change(s) to help forward motion? or any other changes that may help?

Cheers

Peter

Welcome! I had the same problems with the 9104. Oh, mine is a monster now! I have do many mods as it is now a 5ch beast. To say it is a 9104 any longer is a stretch. I do have to replace the direct drive motor, and it is coming. The tail motors seem to burn out too quick, so I would order a few now if possible. They are pretty inexpensive. As far as increasing forward motion, make sure you have the servo push rod on the last hole in the servo arm. The 9104 is a bit tail heavy, also, so put some playdough or plumbers putty in the nose. You can check to see how much you need by lifting the heli by the flybar (with the flybar at a right angle to the heli) and then judge how much weight you need to get it right. This should help the forward motion a bit.

ok guys i have a problem with my 9104 it wont lift off the ground swapped batterys not it tested the motors and they are working like they should be ( the rear motor is kinda slow when you turn it left i think is that normal and would that cause the problem) so i would assume it would be the pcb correct? and if it is my chopper is 27mhz would i just need to order another pcb and hook it up and good to go or how do i get it to work because i want to fly it i have a few choppers but i love the look of the 9104

but a list of my birds are the 9104 9053 s031g s107g and getting the blade sr 120 and also may be getting the qs8006 but anyway i need advice on the pcb on what to do thanks

If you have volt meter, I would measure the output of the pcb to the motor. You can see if the volts are correct and if so, not the pcb, but the motor. Some of them have been known to be bad.

If you are still running the 7.4V lipo, it should be at least that. A fully charged 7.4v will actually be around 8.4. At full power, you should somewhere near that. Be careful, as the pins are close together on the pcb and you might short them! You can take the motor out and check the voltage at the motor. Up to you.

the battery i have in the dh is a li-on not a lipo but anyway i check the power in on the pcb or the plug on the motor on the pcb

If you get everything working, look at the Genace 7.4 1300mah batteries. They work good in the 9104.

Oh Ribble, put on a direct drive motor again, but it was for 11v so it could not keep up. So, after reading about a few putting 11v through the ek2-701 (normally 7.4vI), I gave it a try... for about 30 seconds, that is! Burnt it out so the 9104 is down for the count. I will revive it at a later day with complete brushless mod. I go the direct drive variable pitch built for the 450 and it works, but need a new esc (on order). I got the Flymentor complete adjusted out and is working well. I have a second ddvp built, but will have to either use a bushing on the 9104 boom or drill out the tail boom holder to 12 mm for the 450 boom and then just shorten it to length. I have an extra gyro to run the servo anyway. I guess I should call it a triple horse 9554 now??? I will try to post some pictures on the ddvp thread I created later this week.
