Oddness continues. Inspect the tail gears closely. Make sure nothing wrapped around tail rotor. Could be vibration from main rotor keeps the tail going.

Tail motor - 9104-14 - Chopper Tail Unit (tail boom and all, no soldering

Receiver PCB - 9104-20 - Controller Equipment (solder two wires) - Be sure to SELECT FREQUENCY (27MHz 40MHz 49MHz) though 49MHz isn't shown and may have to email them if that is what you need.

My bet is on the Receiver PCB.

Tail unit - $5.51 shipped from China
http://www.aliexpress.com/product-fm...olesalers.html

Receiver PCB - $14.00 shipped from China (SELECT FREQUENCY)
http://www.aliexpress.com/fm-store/4...wholesale.html

I buy a lot from AliExpress vendors. Takes about 20 days order to delivery.

Parts are there, although I still have the mod in favour, where I put the 2nd servo in the front, as I then don't have to modify the 1st servo. Also, there was no T-like arm in my servo package :-(.

You know, I am not a pro pilot, it's only a small project to have fun with my 12-year old son...

Does anybody see major problems putting the 2nd servo diagonal in the front, so that the servo arm would very directly move the swashplate? There is a video in youtube that shows it in that way. The other arm seems to still be fixed there...

BR,
Carsten.

Hi Carsten,

I'm not either pro pilot...just modifying my DH for fun

The 2nd servo will work fine diagonal in the front .... maybe the heli is moving also little bit backwards when trying to fly sideways....but thats not a big problem

Hi guys,

I fixed the battery plate in new place and have to admit that now i found the limits of my DH. It was flying TOO FAST forward and it was almost impossible to stop

Crashed four times yesterday.....twice on the ground...once on the roof of carage and once in a tree.

...have to adjust the servo arms again

Most DH104 flyers complain that it is too slow forward.

Extra weight of 1800mAh 25C LiPo battery makes the DH9104 harder to stop once it gets moving. Also makes it more stable in wind.

Tumppi, thank you for all the pictures. I also have a MJX F45 helicopter and a spare F45 receiver for my DH9104. Now have all the parts to put the DH9104 on 2.4GHz 4 channel as you have done.

Hello everybody,

modding went pretty well. Only that I drilled a too small hole for the servo
and the screw broke . Fortunately, I was able to get it out with a pair of
tongs (is this the right work?).

And that it was drifting so much to the left, that I had to turn the servo arm
a bit, so that it is not in the middle when neutral.

Too windy today. But we wondered, whether we don't need any antenna?

I will put on some pics. That was so easy that my 12-year-old did everything
but drilling the hole (and getting out the rest of the screw )

And a short question: when turning the tail, does your tail motor also
increase to turn in one, but stop spinning to turn the other way (by using
the momentum of the main rotor)? I thought it wouldn't stop with the
original PCB.

BR,
Carsten.

Hi Carsten,

Great job. Modifying these copters is the other half of this hobby....not only flying. Then you learn how does everything work and what is the meaning of each part. I really like to put my DH in parts in rainy and windy days.

About your question: yes .. the tail of my DH is acting same way as yours. Thats maybe because the MJX pcb is giving more power to the main motor.

I finally got the brushless motor and esc. It was really easy modification to change them. I'm right now on a holiday trip in Spain with my family, but i will publish some new pics when i get back home next week.

Best regards,
- Tumppi

Thanks Tumppi,

then I am ok with it. It does only mean that turns in one direction are a bit
more powerfull than in the other direction.

Two notes:

Note 1:

1. Heli crashed on ground, new undercarriage is ordered, too fast :-)
2. Heli crashed in tree, new choper tail is ordered, motor burned :-(

Ordered another cover and balance bar to make it look nicer.

Note 2:

The Extra Servo is doing the oposite of what's expected. Your T-like
structure does the inversion. For me, I have to change servo motor
wires.

Have a nice vaccation!!!

BR,
Carsten.

DH9104 Left Spin, Frustrated

Hi. I am new here and found this forum because I am having the same "Out of Control Left Spin" problem.

I have tried all of the tests for Gyro and such and nothing seems to work.

Here is how it is working --

With a full charge in the battery and full charge batteries in the controller, I can unhook the main rotor and the Tail rotor responds to throttle and direction.

Once it lifts off, it will fly fine for a few minutes but once the throttle gets near full speed, the tail rotor does not respond to right turn.

The heli will begin to spin to the left and Full right trim and right stick only causes it to stop spinning but it will not turn to the right.

I am thinking it could be a bad tail motor because when it is cool and I first fly it, it works fine... after a few minutes, it begins to spin -- Expecially at full throttle.

Only mods are Clay in the nose and Servo arm adjusted out 5 turns (like in the videos).

The DH9104 seems to be the only one I have ever read about with the issue.

As I said... the gyro seems to be working fine and the tail motor works with the main unplugged ....

What could be the problem?

The heli is only about a week and a half old and has been flown about 8 times...
Crashed 3 times but nothing major (only scratched the canopy paint)

Please help... I hate to have to spend a bunch of money for parts already on a brand new heli!

Thank you!

I may have to try that... would like to find the motor only as I don't need the holder and pipe...

I wanted to ask -- Where did you find Metal Canopy Pins?
I would like to have metal ones for mine because the plastic ones are too flexible and the canopy pulls them forward a little.
