Gents...
Just an update on our dillema.. I tried an 0.058 cf rod in the existing set up and it has made all the difference in the world. Can't believe what 0.005 in. difference makes.. ..looks like we won't need to tear out the original set up. Thanks for your hint George, that definitely is a sticky in our build Cheers Ray |

a binding issue
In the same boat but remedied to a degree by ensuring outer carved a straight path through the boom for both rudder and elevator. Needed a lot of rat-tail filing and fitting/ removing/ fitting /removing.
Sanded the pushrod a little and that helped. It's better but not as good as other gliders; still not as good as internal routing. IMHO the Supra rear end is awkward compared to conventional gliders. All that stuff hanging out in the breeze makes me squirm. I'd like to see a Supra Pro-V with RDS. Chris. |

Hi Chris... thank you for the input.
Q!.. what size diameter pushrods are you using..?? just visually they look substantially larger than ours.... maybe just the perspective tho. Agreed, letting it "all hang out" feels like tying a drag chute onto the back, but no empirical testing to show that. We are exploring nylon instead of teflon as the inner tube, technically has a lower C of F... but then there are a variety of nylons to deal with... Should get a medal for all this when we get it done.. :> Ray |
