1) When you select Land with a switch etc. and the drone is where you want it to be, just as it does currently. 2) When the Tx is out of range or the battery is too low or any other 'AutoLand' condition - with two sub types. In the case of a low battery, Type 2) could apply TS_DN at a steady rate until it gets some feedback from the Ultrasound that it is within a few metres of the ground when it sends the 'Land' signal to the firmware as usual. It is desirable to be able to steer while the Drone is landing to avoid trees, ponds, power lines, steer into your own property etc. even if you have no more control over the throttle, just as happens with many of the Mini/Micro Quads on the market when the battery gets too low to fly. In the case of out of range or Tx failure problems only, you wouldn't have any steering control until back in range either because it lowered the height enough, or you were running towards your drone frantically trying to steer it, when it would start to work properly again, possibly after a set period of a number of seconds to make sure it is really in range. The 'Flat Battery' version would not allow you to regain throttle control and the flashing LEDs for the two sub modes could be different to indicate what it was doing. Maybe a single Green cycling around the other three Reds like a spaceship when the battery isn't flat (ANIMS 14-17)? To also make it more obvious that 'normal' flying was not available, the Drone stick inputs could be reduced to something like the 'Normal' or 'Easy' values to indicate that the Drone was in Buzz Lightyear mode and was not flying, but 'falling with style'.
