Can find all the bits ok, but i can only see instructions for Drone v1 on the miru page, am i looking in the wrong place lol? need something to guide me through the drone 2.0, wirings diagrams etc as it uses an extra board - logic converter

also the instructions talk about programming the Spektrum RX and TX for the drone 1.0 wont the values differ for the 2?

Wiring diagrams are available on the webpage as well (http://mirumod.tk/hw/arduino_pro_min...o_pro_mini.php if you ise Arduino ProMini or http://mirumod.tk/hw/arduino_nano/arduino_nano.php if you use Arduino Nano).

If you need more detailed step-by-step instructions have a look at these posts:

No, the TX/RX setup will be the same.

FSAF
VLBA
GSWO
and SETUP

mean
FSAF - failsafe input from receiver, now obsolete as latest version of the sketch can detect lost RX/TX connection even without it
VLBA - Visible Low Battery Alert - this output gets activated when the battery level drops below defined threshold (can be used e.g. to control some bright light or buzzer)
GSWO - Gear Switch Output - represents GEAR switch state of the TX (depending on configuration) - can be used to control some extra addons for your mod (e.g. electromagnet for picking up objects or a rocket launcher )
SETUP - test mode that allows to connect the mod to PC and check if it is functioning properly using hyperterminal

All these are described in the readme and/or sketch itself so you should study them carefully before building the mod

Ok thanks for all the replies, i will consider it all.

I may even stay with the MacGyver stuff and then look at the wiring when it arrives and see if it looks the same and write the later sketch myself to it when Miru releases it

Originally I bought from macgyver. It worked ok but it is quite limited being unupgradable - neither transmitter nor mod code itself. Mike/macdrones was very unhelpful - basically the purchase is as is and no modification is supported even to the point that he refuses to tell whether there is a bootloader remaining in pro mini he ships.

After a while, I put together my own copy - Turnigy 9X (actually Flysky 9x TH9 from US seller - $75) + clone pro mini from ebay. It was remarkably easy and now I can experiment with firmware, adding some functionality to it. So I recommend building your own mod. I, for one, would be happy to help with the build, having just gone the process few weeks ago.

Nice one, i think il take you up on that

My planned hardware is

Spektrum DX6i or DX7
Spektrum AR600 Receiver
Arduino Pro Mini
The logic converter board
FTDI for programming the Arduino
Ancilliries like wires and headers etc to put it all together

That about cover it you think? Might be better when i do it to help over email rather keep posting in here? swap if you like, mines sjw2511@gmail.com

dont worry I wont pester you forever more lol only if I get stuck

Better go for nano - it will allow you for further expansion (e.g. adding GPS) as it has better power regulator and can supply 3.3V.

Also it has build in USB port so you don't need FTDI board.

Yes, but better look for version without pins (so you won't have to remove them to solder wires)

Folks,

I am working to add barometric altitude hold functionality to Miru's mod. The barometer I am using for now is bmp085 (could not find MS5611 with quick delivery to US), but it can be changed in the future.

The bmp085 is hooked to pro mini through I2C interface - thankfully those pins are available and unused on pro mini. The rx2atp main loop is ideally timed for talking to bmp085 - 33.3 ms period and bmp085 requires 26 ms to do highest resolution pressure acquisition. In the spirit of Miru's design, I've added i2c routines and bmp085-specific logic to rx2atp, keeping project within a single file. As a first step, I've modified SETUP code (rx_loop) to include bmp085 output. After some debugging and fixing silly mistakes, I finally got good output of temperature and pressure in SETUP display, updating without any lag. But then something very baffling has happened.

By accident, I pushed cntrl-B one more time while the SETUP was active (displaying the data). Immediately, the temperature/pressure output became mostly garbage - and remained like that indefinitely. Pushing cntrl-B again returned the temperature/pressure values to normal. Pushing cntrl-B again - garbage. And so on. Please understand that normal or garbage descriptions refer not to single measurements but to continuous streams of updating values. So cntrl-B strated acting as a toggle somehow making bmp085 routines output to get corrupted somehow. It is definitely the data corruption rather than the display problem - confirmed that by completely removing every line of code that I added to display the bmp085 output and adding code that signals when temperature is out of reasonable range by introducing 1 second delay.

So what gives? Why would cntrl-B (which essentially reinitializes rx_loop) act as a toggle to whatever corrupts bmp085 output? I don't understand how it can get corrupted in the first place but toggling it back to normal is simply baffling! I am very new to Arduino so I may be missing some intricacies of memory or i/o handling in these chips. Is it possible that what I am experiencing is some sort of illegal data memory operation, as in out-of-bounds array or pointer operation? Alternatively, can this be some hardware problem? BMP085 is 3.3V device, so for testing purposes I am running 5V/16MHz pro mini at 3.3V/16Mhz which technically means overclocking it slightly. The receiver is not powered.

Any advice? I'll take any suggestions however crazy they may be

Or and if any one wants/needs to see the modified code, I'd be happy to provide it.

You want guide for nano rather than mini:
