I'm feeding the GPS with external 5v. I'm using the very same cable that I use to test the GPS with my PC (working fine here).
Now, whatever I try, in test mode no GPS at all is recognized... if I swap TX w RX (but in wrong position) MiruMod sees something (I see gps 57600) but nothing else.
I've the fear that my Nano has a broken AO A1... is there a way I can test it? If of course this could be the culprit.

Thanks

Do you have Arduino's and GPS's GNDs connected? Maybe show us a photo of your GPS wiring.

NO! Because I'm taking the 5v from an external source GPS GND is not connected to Arduino. Arduino and GPS are connected just with TX-RX.
So I just connect GND (any Arduino GND) to GPS GND as well? Do I need it?

Thanks

GPS compatibility?

Hi friends! Good job for gps.
The addition of GPS tempt me well and I saw this model. Is it compatible with the Mod? I suppose Yes. Should put a resistance on the GPS rx line
On the RTH desactivated in rev0.19, what are the problems encountered with the drone1 (this is what I have).
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Seems to have all that is needed, so most likely yes.

If you power it with 5V no, if you power it with 3.3V I would say yes.

You just don't have RTH with 0.19. But you do have logging (which can then be converted and viewed in GoogleEarth)

I also fly a drone 1.0 with rev.0.19 and I have no problems.
The RTH in rev.0.18 worked, but was too unreliable, so Miru left it out of 0.19 until the bugs were sorted out

Can I swap outputs D2-D7 around to the channel order of my specific Rx for slightly neater wiring?

I'd like them to be:

* D2 PD.2 IN RX AUX1 channel
* D3 PD.3 IN RX GEAR channel
* D4 PD.4 IN RX RUDD channel
* D6 PD.5 IN RX THRO channel < moved from 7
* D7 PD.6 IN RX ELEV channel < moved along one
* D5 PD.7 IN RX AILE channel < moved along one

But all I can find is this:

#define S_AILE 0
#define S_ELEV 1
#define S_THRO 2
#define S_RUDD 3
#define S_AUX1 4
#define S_GEAR 5
#define S_NCHN 6

Can I swap these about or is it set in at2so.c? Where can I get the source for this to have a look around if I have to recompile?

I can't give you blow by blow instructions, but I've included a couple of photos of my mod whilst under construction.

As far as having to use special cabling goes, I hope not!! I pulled apart an old computer case and got all my cables from that

The diagrams are pretty clear, so get stuck in, and have a go! If you come across any specific problems, there is usually someone on this forum that can help out.

Good luck
Thanks that helps!

You need to connect SIGNAL pins to Arduino's D7 to D2 pins accordingly (you may need to rewire it later depending on the order of channels in your TX, so don't make cables too short)

You need to connect one (doesn't matter which one, they are all connected) of the RX+ pins to Arduino's 5V pin

You need to connect one (doesn't matter which one, they are all connected) of the RX- pins to Arduinos's GND pin (there are two such pins, pick the one you like)

That's it RX connected!
Thank you very much!

And thanks to all of you - I look forward to sharing my Drone adventures with you

P.S. for some reason my drone disconnected power whilst in mid flight (it was a little windy but not particularly bad) at around 15-20 feet. Dropped like a log and hit concrete. Central Cross broken :S
I'm wondering if the motors cut power because it tilted too far?! Although I could not see as much - is there any way to adjust the tilt cut off settings?

Also, is this GPS device compatible for 2.0 mod?
http://www.robotshop.com/productinfo...408&lang=en-US

thanks again - luckily I was able to get it exchanged for a new one :P

Is that a 1.0 mod?

What is that board with all the pins sticking out?

I thought you only needed either an 8-pin for 1.0 mod or 10-pin for 2.0??

thanks.

So in the diagram, the "Receiver" is what is already inside the drone?

thanks!

Where do you place the GPS unit?

I was thinking to place it like in the picture. Thinking to drill the hull to house the GPS. Seems to me a nice place because it won't give me problems in removing the hull.
What do you think?

Thanks
G.

NO! That is not a right place to do it.

If you cannot change the order of channels in your TX then look for

gl.rxs.chn[S_THRO].msk = _BV(7);
gl.rxs.chn[S_AILE].msk = _BV(6);
gl.rxs.chn[S_ELEV].msk = _BV(5);
gl.rxs.chn[S_RUDD].msk = _BV(4);
gl.rxs.chn[S_GEAR].msk = _BV(3);
gl.rxs.chn[S_AUX1].msk = _BV(2);

in lines 1803-1080 (v019) and change the pin assignment there
