Will that do the job?

It works now

Thank you Miru for your response,

to get the correct values in Setup-GUI i had to change flight control switching from S_GEAR to AUX1.

After this was fixed i run into the next trap: No takeoff possible with v 016.

Checking the last pages of this forum i found the solution --> increase the boot time from 10 to 21. Thanks to Pawelsky!
Now it flies as month before with v 008.

With the new compass and pressure sensors available on version 2, it should make GPS navigation development work easier too.

Newbie to mod

Hey Everyone,
I am very excited to try out this mod.
I bought a DX6i, OrangeRX and a Arduino Nano.
My question is, what gauge wire should I use to wire the Arduino to the RX and to the AR Drone? Would 30AWG be okay? Also, the instruction guides don't really talk about the Nano but does it use the same instructions as if I was using a Mini Pro?

Also, I am a little bit nervous about loosing my drone because it went out of range. Do the software have a fail safe setting?

If anyone has tips or suggestions for this mod, please throw them my way.

Thanks,

Dante1

What is the firmware version ?
I found that v 014 work with FW1.7.11, but not v015 nor v016.(arduino mini pro LED does not blink)
Both v015 & v016 work with FW1.10.10

I prefer FW1.7.11to FW1.10.10 at the moment.

I have a little problem with this mode. Sometimes drone doesn't launch, as i think because arduino is overheated, I'm using arduino mini pro and the battery 1300mAh. Battery output voltage is 13.0V. Is it ok?
Please list more details such as firmware version and Mod version.

What is your receiver ?

inertial software

I have upgraded from FW 1.7.11 to 1.10.10 and restored to 1.7.11 several times.

Now strange thing happens.
I got a new FW(1.10.10) with old inertial software (4.324).
Before that , the old FW (1.7.11) is with newer inertial software (4.65).
How does it happen ?

Is it possible to select the flight control, inertial and motor software to be updated individually ?

Please help.

4.65 is older than 4.324. I think 1.7.11 can not handle 4.324 reports.

Need input

While waiting for parts for the new drone (level shifter and connector) I found out, that the flip is initiated with a CONFIG command. Further research showed that it is just a new flight animation move. So far we have not addressed triggering animations on the drone, which should be done so one can use the animations. There are 16 different ones in drone 1 and the new drone must have more, since the left flip is #18 (this is the only one I have been able to trigger so far).

I need input and ideas from the group how to do that trigger from the TX. My initial thought was to use the rudder channel (short hard left or hard right) to trigger at least 2 different animations, but it's not that good, since the drone reacts to the yaw command fairly quick.

Have you tried to force #17 and #18 on Ardrone 1.0?
