that may do the trick,ill have to see if my rx can run a digital servo.
i was under the impression you need a digital rx/tx to run them.

the beauty of the power trim....i dont need to be ballanced to adjust the ride.

Well, you need to be somewhat balanced............you cant stick everything in the nose for instance................keep it somewhat "normal" for the CG........like 30% range.

oh i know...the better balanced i get her,the less the motor has to work to keep the boat in check.
i was just making a point...if im a little off...the power trim will easily take care of that.
balance plays a big part in how well the boat rides.
with the trim i can fine tune it during the ride,instead of comming to shore to make the adjustment.

done a test fit on everything,fit was good.
so i gave everything a decent coat of polyester resin,installed some foam in the battery tray.
just gotta wait for her to dry,mod my tq3 tx to run the trim,install everything for the test run.

my attention to detail wont be great,or beautiful.
my main focus is to get her riding.
later on ill do a rebuild thread.
including a better...more compact and efficient trim package,brushless...maybe a different deck....build her like a ski boat.

hopefully everything works out that way.
i know she will be slow....compared to other race boats....but i build for scaleness....not speed.

modded my traxxas tq3 rx to use the trim.shes ready to hit the waves.
gotta add more weight to the nose though.
pool tested great,when trimed 3/4 the way up,she hops out the water....cant wait to go run her.

added 3 0z of lead to the front,and 3 20 0z temp flotation for the test run.

first test ride in water was nice,a bouncy ride,the trim works great.
on the second pack i went out to open choppy water with 8-10 mph breeze.
made 1 lap before the stock motor threw a brush.
so i didnt setup the cam.
first pack lasted about 20 mins running up and down a drainnage ditch.
caught lots of grass in the wheel,tested the motor kickup by jumping a submerged bucket.
i had fun.its a wild ride steering this thing straight in a narrow ditch,in open water she was pretty stable,but due to the bounce i slowed alittle on turns....just in case.
a good 15-18 mph.
the trim is sensitive....lol.
ill post up a youtube test vid in a few.

after 30 mins total run on the ep-1....ive got water in the lower unit.

Thats the weak link of the EP-1, the brass bevel gears and you cant find them anywhere..........maybe someone can make you some out of steel/titanium?

theres a bayou 150 yards wide at that location,i put the boat in...about 30 seconds later i threw a brush.
she rode great in the deep choppy water....ill put in a fresh motor tonight,try again tomorrow or saturday.

i have a lead on a guy that made gears for them last year.
i sent him an email.
a certin graupner motor uses the same gears....i think the 800 series.
id be happy with stainless gears.
