ep-1 project (with working power trim)youtube first run vid on pg 3!

i aquired a sv27 glass hull awhile back,been planning to run 1-2 ep-1 outboards.
ill try with one ep-1 first.
sofar all i did was remove the hardware, stickers and mock-up of the ep-1.

the hull is empty,no radio box,no frame rails.....nothing.

not sure if im staying brushed or going brushless at the moment.
may fabricate a nice jack-up plate/standoff,better bigger prop and surface drive the ep-1 with a hotter brushed motor.
im not really into fast things anymore,i like scale stuff.
ill be happy with 20 mph tops.

time to raise the dead.
started gutting the old rotten transom, building a new transom with the addition of a added motor jack plate.
im tieing the jack plate into the transom for strength.if i go brushless....the transom should hold up fine.
the brass gears in the ep-1's lower unit....may not hold up.
i used 1/4 birch ply.

I like the look of outboards. Its just too back heavy for my liking. Much too much weight at the back. But then again, you could just place the batteries in the front.

got the power trim concept sorted out.
just gotta power it with a high torque servo or gear box.

i went a different route with the idea, used the existing motor mounting brackets, axial 3rd upper link, long screw, threaded peice of plastic.

ill have a test vid comming soon.

built the trim bracket, installed a thrust bearing.
just have to cut the shaft down, attach a powerful servo....make a mechanial seal on the outside to keep water out.
motor is free to pop up in the event that i hit something.

the downward force of the prop wash will push against the thrust bearing, that rides on the back side of the stainless plate.
this way i dont transfer any foward load on my servo.

quick vid powered by a small weak cordless screw driver.
i like this setup, but will build a better version later.
its a simple screw drive setup, similar to screw drives built to similate hydraulics on rc construction equipment.
