After posting under Alex's name!

I just posted my timer app on the android market. It includes 3 Alula tasks! One literally takes two minutes.

Two MINUTES!! Is it a sloping task?

Alula meets F3K.

It is the ladder. 5 seconds starting flight, incrementing by 5 seconds with a maximum of 30!

Yes, the first flight you need to get down pretty quick, but after that it becomes harder!

Its also fun because it is very quick to do a round...

Mine came and I built most of it last night. I'm not sure why I paid $68 for 3 pieces of foam and $5 worth of CF, but it's pretty cool and I look forward to hiking and flying with it. I decided it was small enough to easily strap to the outside of my backpack so I glued on the wing. Just by chance I have a stack of neodymium magnets the perfect size but I liked a more secure attachment.

I was considering taping the LE to protect against damage from landing in tall grass. What exactly is that extreme tape? It looks like you're reinforcing the nose and fin as well. Sounds like a good idea. Does the tape paint well?

I also found a 300mah nicd (the one I have) isn't the same size as a 300mah nimh so I'll have to get a battery.

Do the battery as pictured (4xAAA) and you will not need to add nose weight to the Alula-
Extreme Tape is bi-directional reinforced packing tape- awesome stuff

Are these the ones that everyone is buying? SANYO NEW 1500 eneloop 4 Pack AAA Ni-MH Pre-Charged Rechargeable Batteries only $10.15 for a 4 pack.

I picked up the stock battery pack for my first Alula and had to add 14 grams of led. Broke down and ordered 2 Alula's they are so much fun and plan on putting the 4 x AAA pack in it instead of lead.

Nate- any rechargable AAA batteries work fine- I think I picked 'em up at walmart. They need to be soldered together in series...

I use the duracell ones - 1000mah. The eneloop ones are 800mah and you also get others at 850mah. They all weigh the same (usually very close).

The duracell ones are $11 or so from Harmons.
