What are you using for your (non-goggle) display?

Looking at putting together my ground station. I currently have a pair of HeadPlays, but I haven't gotten around to doing...well...-anything- with them. LOL While I intend on using them, I think having a panel display on the ground station is a good idea as well.

Soo...what are you guys happy with, for a ground display? TV's running on inverters? Something that runs on 12v dc? What sizes are you using? I've seen mention of as small as 7", and as large as 22" (iirc).

Can those who have actually used these set ups discuss their pros and cons?

Cheap and easy way to do it is 7-9" 12vdc lcd non-hd tv. If you have a recorder in line like the Aiptek MPVR you'll have no blue screen issues. You can get a MPVR for $40-60 and a cheap SD TV for $40-80. It makes a pretty solid easy to use combo.

i use a laptop with a non-reflective screen as recorder + 2nd screen.
It's a Panasonic R3. 10", "cheap", old, indestructible and it can compress the video in real time as long as you dont use a too demanding codec. Theres an ezcap on it.

When I'm not on the go or in town however I use whatever TV is around, usually 40" or so (parents place in the middle of nowhere with a big tv for example :P)

I'm using a DP6 for work (video documentaries) and it's an excellent hi-end field monitor with lots of features. Maybe too much for just fpv but that's up to you...
