The 8411a's are the perfect f3a servo ; nice one.
Quick explanation; the 8411 has an all metal gear train and develops a little slop over time. It's minimal though and on any other plank/ Heli you would not be aware. But coming back to centre is obviously critical in pattern. The 8411a is an F3A specific servo with a nylon gear train except for the final gear that the servo horn is fitted on which is metal. They really are crisp and smooth. There are new 'a' servos out now and come in two sizes the last time I checked, the second being for individual ele or for the 2x2's I run the 8411a on the ail and an 8511 on the rudder. So, if your looking for new servo's it's worth checking these out. I just happen to run JR gear. It's just my opinion, that Futaba & JR are both excellent brands. Futaba have for the last ten years 'owned' the Heli market in gyro's (401/611) and their native servos 9254/9256/9267. Lot's more competition now but only in the last three years. Much respect to both brands.

Never heard of 8511. there never was 8411A in the state (maybe you meant 8611A). 8411SA was the special application that you mentioned as 8411A. All SA or A servos have been discontinued although it is still possible to find a few. Most people I know change the gears (not the top gear) with 811/8101 gears to make SA.

ok. there is 8511 in Japan (may be Europe also?) I just looked over the JR Japan site. You should be using the Japanese version servos.

We never get the identical servos from Japan or Europe.
Somehow, a lot of JR servos have different part # here in the states. I occasionally get the servos from Japan, but never had one that matching the US servos.

DS8911 picture seems from Japan also. It is none-high voltage servo which is not available in the state.

Got the maiden flight done today. Took a couple of clicks of aileron and 4 clicks of up elevator. But I knew it was a little nose heavy. With an APC 16x12 the A50-16s pulled 71.1 amps right at 1600 watts. Some very serious power in the air.Plane takes off and lands awesome. Has great rudder authority for as small as the rudder is. Only put in easy flights to get batteries broken in. Can't wait to open it up and see what she will do.

Is anyone haveing trouble with a V1 verison getting too hot?

I've never had a problem with mine getting hot but the warmest I flew it was in the 90's.

These are such GREAT planes it is hard for me beleive that we don't have more posts about them.

I've gotten a few more flights on the plane now and it is flying great. I think I have a good c/g, I will have to check and see where it is. I have the throws were I like them and only have to get the throttle curve a little better. If you carry power over the top of manuevers it can speed up in a hurry. But I do like the way it flies. Now I can't wait to get my miss wind done.

Just finished one of these about 3 months ago:

My setup is:

Motor: Rimfire 1.20 on a 16x10 prop.
ESC: CC 100amp ICE.
Battery: Flight Power 30C 6S 5000mAh.
Receiver: Futaba R6008HS
Servo's: Rudder (Futaba BLS451), Elevator (x2 Futaba BLS153), Aileron (x2 Futaba BLS551).

After setting up the plane and putting about 30 flights my 2cents is:

I have unlimited vertical and has great speed, plane is very stable even on windy days, Plane tracks like a dream in the air (just point it), Aerobatics are solid and crisp all around A++++++.

The only thing I was not happy about is the flimsy gear struts, I wish they would be stiffer (Still trying to find a carbon substitute), I also wish they would have designed the canopy with a latch system instead of screws.

EVERY TIME I GO UP IT'S LIKE ROCK & ROLL IN THE SKY.........I LOVE IT
