Kit for Marske Pioneer 3

Hi,

thought you might be interested in this:

AR-Flugmodelle ist going to offer short kits in 1/5-scale (3 m wingspan) and 1/3-scale (5 meter wingspan) of the Marske Pioneer 3, designed by Austrian Roman Fraisl.

Roman has recently won the AUFWIND-kit-development-contest (with our friend Herbert Eberbach being a close contender as all the AUFWIND-subscribers may know).

The 1/5-scale-kit is wood only, lasercut-quality.

The 1/3-scale-kit has a GRP-fuselage and lasercut-wood for the wings.

Regards,

Andy

Thanks Andy, AR-Flug has some very interesting models. Fascinating approach to building the wings for the Willow Wren, main spar actually splits the ribs into front and rear sections, something I've never seen before.

The Pioneer 3 reminds me of our time together at Colli San Fermo where I watched at least one Fauvel meet an untimely end. Convinced me that a "real sailplane" needs a proper fuselage and tail feathers. No doubt we'll hear otherwise from a few flying wing fans!

Regards,

Steve

Their web pages must be all Raster as I cannot get my translator to function at all.

Andy: any idea of the asking Price ? thanx

Jim Marske has been designing and flying his "wings" for 40 yrs.

Wings work just fine.

PLease Dont judge em by just one crash.

Hi,

the kits aren't available as of today (as far as I know), but should be this month or next. No information about the asking price right now, but you may contact Roman Fraisl via e-mail.

Andy

PS.: Steve, I can't remember seeing a Fauvel crashing at Colli San Fermo - must have been on one of the days you were there prior to my stay with you. My Fauvel's still waiting to be finished...

Andy, the Fauvel I mentioned was flown by Hans G. I believe he arrived about the time you left.

Hi guys,

From now on you can get the information on Pioneer III and the Willow Wren also in English. The Pioneer III is already in an advanced stage and in a few weeks we will have the first pictures. We have left a long time to perfect this model. We'll keep you up to date in this forum as it continues.

Of course you can inform you at any time on our web page http://ar-flugmodelle.at/english.

I hope my english is ok. If someone finds a write error or an incorrect expression on our web page, then we would greatly appreciate a feedback from you. Because it is not always easy to find the right English Translation, especially in the technical terms.

with best regards

Roman

3 meter Pioneer III

Good evening,

It appears that the three meter Pioneer III kit is being sold by Decker Planes.

I am hoping to buy one since the five meter version would be too big for my apartment and difficult to transport.

This wood kit is more expensive that the molded version from China (with a garish color scheme) but I hope it has a lower shipping cost to balance it out. Also, being wood, it should be easier to repair which is an important consideration for me.

Best wishes, HT
