Ok, here's an update on my slow rebuild.

I have replaced the stuffing tube & gotten somewhat of an idea on remounting things.

Pictures, pictures!! Here look for yourselves. lol

Correct angle? Have to test drive first. I guess.

Bills heat shrink idea.

Cut down the stuffing tube & teflon liner.

Finally a dummy fit of the electrics.

Still have to lay carbon & kevlar along the inside of the hull & stick in the velcro to hold the batteries.

I'm going to have to do a repair job on mine before running it again. I created another "prezel drive" last Sunday. (this time it was the Genesis)

I literally just finished fixing the gel coat cracks with super thin CA (worked a treat) & resined in the stuffing tube with kevlar on the inside & filled the gaps on the outer.

Yes, that's a piece of carbon fibre trapped in there.

Next is the spaces where the batts mount & then drill & tap the end bell of the motor with 2mm screws to prevent it migrating out of the can.

Bill you mentioned that you usually have your stuffing tube a minimum of 5mm from your collet. What happened with yours? There is hardly any support there with at least 20-30mm between the two.

By the way, Bill, are you running 4 or 6S? What are those packs?

Hello guys.

Yesterday i bought from HK the Genesis RC boat and I'm waiting for it.
My plan is to run it with 2 x 4S 3000mAh 40C battery in parallel, ESC Turnigy 120A Marine ( I have it on stock, but not so sure if will be OK for that setup).
From your posts I understand that the stock setup is not strong enough and I need to reinforce the boat hull and change the brass tube and flex cable.

I'm new to boats and I'm living in small town in Bulgaria, EU and here there is no one that I could ask for help. I'm begging you for more detailed instruction, what I must to do and what exactly I need to by from OSE to do it.

Thank you in advance.
Regards.

P.S. Sorry for my bad English

Ok Taki, the 4S setup you are planning on running will work perfectly fine.

Just make sure to remove the motor & lay extra fibreglass around the vertical parts of mount so that you have a stronger hold on the base of the hull.

I ran mine stock for a little while on 4S (There is video of it here somewhere. Check it out they are pretty fast in stock form.), but, I changed the prop to an Octura X437/3 without trying the stock one. This prop X437/3 has a different sized shaft & doesn't quite fit properly, but, it works.

The parts to get to upgrade the drive line are the following:
1/4" Diameter pn#131

Flex shaft & propshaft already complete. Saves lots of time.

This bushing will fit the standard Genesis strut.

& finally, this coupler.
http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/pro...oct-ocfhe5mm15

This is the prop I used in the following video.

This was running 2 x 2S 5000mAh 40C packs.
My new boat. (4 min 31 sec)

How do you guys grease your tubes?

I used this method on my K&B leg today with excellent results. I'll be doing the same on my Genesis.

Also, here's another mod on the leg of my K&B. Rerouted the cooling pick up line & plan to reroute the exit down through the old exhaust port & attach it to the pressure nipple (hehehe, I said nipple.)

Why?
I plan on making a cowl & try to make it look like a scale motor. I am aware you can buy things, but, I like to make stuff. It'll take me a while.

I plan on buying this hull as it's virtually identical to the one I had this motor on when it was nitro.

Well, that's entirely up to you & your wallet.

I bought the T180 because I was planning on running a motor with 6S, but, for 4S it would run very cool.

If you do buy one, make sure you get the program box as it makes tuning the ESC much easier.

I bought mine after I had already run the boat.

By the way, you don't need to change the stuffing tube as the teflon liner for the flex drive I listed will fit without modification.

Good luck.

I bought a program card with my T120A, but I don't understand the timing setting. What timing I must set?

I'm not sure of the quality, so, to be safe I wouldn't go over Medium, unless you can monitor the temp of the motor (remotely if possible, to save removing the hatch tape every time you check the reading).

Hi mozzy,

did you ran your boat on 6S configuration with the stock motor, or you have changed it?
