I've never had an interest in the Stryker either until this one. My other pushers I launch sidearm, can't that be done with the Stryker?

Agreed dude, that's why I design all my bigger planes and many smaller ones. They say it has "Z-foam". "Z-foam" is a joke, they charge extra money on stuff like the Yak with "Carbon-Z foam", there's nothing special, they threw in a couple pieces of carbon fiber that costs $0.50 and put in some balsa/ply wood that doesn't even DO anything structurally. It'd be alot cheaper to buy the old one (if you can't/won't design your own) and then just mod it for probably half the price and could make it perform a lot better than this.

Just curious, do you have any proof of this other than you're reasoning to back up your stance of "designing your own bigger planes and many smaller ones" rather than buying is better? Have you seen the video of Quique applying the 45lb weight to the wing of the Carbon Z Yak? It's obviously doing something. As for your medium planes, do you buy those or build them?

Again, some people don't have the time and/or skills to buy an old one and modify it for half the price, "probably". For those that do, I applaud you. This will be a hit just like the other Strykers. To say it's a joke and nothing special is very naive.

Okay, so my buddy just pointed out something in the video and now I'm confused. Why does it say "Elevator on left stick"???? That's weird. Does it have to fly that way? Why would they put that on the video?? Couldn't you just switch the elevator and rudder channels on the Rx?? Weird.. If it would have to be that way I could never fly it.

For people like you, there's scratch building and ARFs.

For people that like to walk out of the hobby store, go straight to the field and fly, there's Parkzone.

Then there's people like me that enjoy all-of-the-above.

Different strokes for different folks, buddy. Maybe you should learn that.

i think they were trying to demonstrate how easily it'll elevator down, and wanted to show which stick was the elevator.

QuiQue flies mode 1, the transmitter determines the mode.

That's what I was thinking but, why wouldn't they just say Mode 1 or Mode 2

I launch my current Stryker and my recently deceased FunJet at about half throttle. Scared the crap out of me the first few times but I have never even felt the breeze off the prop. Why do I do this? Too lazy to run a few steps I guess. I had my GF video my launches just so I could see how close the prop came to my hand and yes it looks close but so far I haven't been bitten. I may be someday. I didn't stop using my dremel when I had to have 20+ stitches in my left index finger and I wont stop flying pushers if I do get bit by the prop. I like that idea about mixing elevator to throttle and may give that a try. Oh and one more thing I found the FunJet easier to hand launch than the Stryker, it torque rolls a bit more but I could get a much better grip on it than on the finger holes on the Stryker.

I totally agree on all notes, I'm just saying that I personally think that it seems like a big ripoff (then again, all BNF/PNP airplanes seem to be that way), though I guess you gotta make a buck somewhere, and if people buy, good for you

I think this new Stryker is definitely on my list. Might even put in a pre-order at my LHS. What do you guys think about adding retracts/landing gear? Would it add too much weight? Just think it might be nice to be able to land on pavement easier.

Coming soon! A new thread!

The F-27Q complainers tread. This thread will be available for people who are not interested in a thread for the new completely redesigned F-27Q Stryker. If you don't like to post on the other Stryker thread and prefer to post here to complain about a thread for a new airplane that hasn't been released yet, this thread is for you! This thread will let people post positive things on the Stryker thread and let people post positive things on this this thread and will also have a place for the complainers. A win,win situation.

I personally went out today and purchased a couple of new airframes for my F-27c today so I will have spares for the 3 I all ready own for when the C is discontinued. I also can't wait for the Q. I have it pre-ordered.

Don't all current Parkzone replacement airframes cost between $80-$100. The old C painted airframe used to cost $85. Why is this a rip off? It's a new plane with an old planes name. The only things it has in common are the basic......basic shape and the name Stryker.
