They are both great planes. It depends on what you want to do.

My opinion would be the stryker. It will go fast and still do some cool moves. EDF jets are fun for bank and yank. I think after seeing this stryker fly at SEFF it will do that and more.

Hi all,

News flash for those interested:

Murdo's F27 was Dopplered in level flight (average of 2 opposing directions to cancel wind) at 204 MPH yesterday.

Average of 4 passes was 202.

*** I think he wants to do the same using the F27Q but while in a knife Edge.

Lordy, lordy you guys are getting faster. Makes my personal best of 113 coming out of a 10 degree dive seem kind of tame in comparison.

The vertical landings in the video were done with a 20 - 30 mph head wind. The "Q" is supposed to have a wider flight envelope than the "C".

So what is the wind range of the new stryker. If it could fly stable in 20+ winds that would be a big plus for me. My other PZ planes really don't handle very well in anything 15+

I've flown the "C" in ridiculous winds. The "Q" was being flown in 30 -40 mph winds at SEFF on Saturday.

Don't apologize, this thread is about a plane you can't even buy.

Fly my F-27C in as much as 30 mph wind fairly often. If it is over 15 or so I just throw it in the trunk and fly at the bigger of the 2 places I fly. A good wind makes the Stryker easier to launch and land. I think I finally have the hand launch down pat. I throw it more like a spear giving the Stryker a decently hard push nose just slightly up, then about 1/2 throttle and a touch of back elevator and off she flies. With my Funjet you barely had to throw it, just get the nose up about 30 degrees give it a gentle push and it almost lifted on its own out of your hand. I imagine the new F-27Q being what around 8 ounces heavier? Will require either a decent wind or a step or three before a decently hard throw? I had my share of botched launches before arriving at the above technique. Out of 200+ launches with my 2 Strykers I beat the heck out of the nose probably 15 times. In 70+ flights with my FunJet I only had 1 bad launch where I threw it way too hard and over throttled at the same time.
