I don't have one to look at but are the stock motor mounts geared for outrunners only?

Has anyone been attempting hand-catch landings? I do it with my slower, pusher wings but have not had the courage to attempt with the Q yet...

ParkZone Stryker F27c ONBOARD Rc Airplane (4 min 26 sec)

No video from the outside but I hand catch my F27C in this onboard video as the cam was on the bottom and a regular landing simply wasn't possible It's not hard as it's got a huge leading edge to grab and it's a simple wing. Just make SURE you have it going slow enough and have a tight grab on it. Also, make sure you're thumb is OFF of the throttle, that could end ugly.

Jackpot.
Thank you!!
Three of those props will prove VERY useful for top speed applications.
15x15 (5.9")
16x16 (6.3")
17x17 (6.7")

It will depend on the max power you can run through the rest of the power system, but these should all do well when matched to the intended speed. I'll be stocking up!

I think he was joking.... especially about the launching, notice how he stayed looking the wrong way for a few seconds

Yeah it was a joke. Good times.

The hand launch was something I used to do all the time though. Not too difficult with a little practice

You probably have reflex (slight up trim) in elevons that holds nose up at low speeds but cause climb w/more airflow. Try moving cg back and loosing reflex ~ if any.

Haven't seen any comments about whether the various launch methods are using high rates or low rates. I've assumed that high rates were needed due to the low air flows over the control surfaces at launch, but today I accidently launched in low rates and had the steadiest fly-away yet. Apparently I'm overcontrolling the departures, but I'd be interested in whether folks are using H/R or L/R for launch. Landing too for that matter. Assuming everyone uses L/R for high speed play.

I use low rates and the power off over hand throw. I land on high rates but thats because I parachute land.

Anderson PowerPoles. You need the crimper, but they are awesome. No soldering.
