New Spectrum DX8 Registration
Hi all
Does anybody know if Product registration is needed with a new DX8, there does not seem any ref to it in the manual, so not sure how I get any updates to the software. The Horizon Hobby site is less than clear.  Chris |

On the Support tab of the product page http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...0#quickSupport
there is a link to click named "[Click Here] to register your DX8 and download the latest updates" That will take you to https://community.spektrumrc.com From there you can create an account. NOTE: If you already have version 2.01 on the radio, when you go to the Serial Number screen (go to System Settings, then NEXT, NEXT) there is an EXPORT option. If you have an SD card installed, this will create an XML file with your serial number in it. Saves typing - just copy and paste the serial number from the XML file into the website serial number field. Eventually the website will accept the XML file directly. Andy |

Thanks for the reply Andy, but its asking me for a "State or Provence" I live in the UK so dont have that info, and as regards that stupid Ser number, just how they expect that entered when the boxes are not large enough, I just dont know.
I hope this is not normally part of the Spectrum Experience. Chris |

The box size is fixed but the font on your system may be larger. They don't control that. One of the reasons I'm glad I don't do web or Windoze development!
Good thing you can just paste it in, eh? The top item on the State or Province prompt is "N/A" - that's what applies to you. Andy |

Have found out that you cannot register a Ser No on their site from a "Mac Computer" they should make this clear! Now just trying to decide what some letters are: ones or Ls, upper or lower case? Chris |

There's a cheat sheet that shows what they are. Just enter something invalid and it will show you the right 0/O/1/l/etc. decoder. The 1.04 font it improved on several chars, so you have it much easier than the guys with 1.00.
