No rudder, to save weight. Just delta wing tailerons instead. On the non-skeleton Toon Jet we've found we rarely use the rudder. So, I've skipped it on both skeleton Toon Jets.

Some initial flights in my family room with my son indicate that we'll have to sort it out in a larger gym before flying it in our house. It's not a given yet that we can fly one with this low wing loading without a rudder. It's a work in process experiment and may require a version two with rudder.

Looks great Gordon! That is an awsome design. What thickness depron are you using?

Looks "cute" (in all of the good connotations and none of the bad). I'm surprised you could get the CG to work out, I assume the battery is mounted all the way forward?

Fritz,
It is all 3mm Depron.

Inari,
Well, the CG is a question at the moment. I know where the CG is on the 15-inch 40g all Depron version I made a year ago for my son. So, this one is designed to have the same CG, which is right under the brick. The battery is mounted just in front of the brick to achieve that CG, but can be adjusted most of the way forward on Dualock. Whether it will require a different CG from the solid Depron version I don't know at this point. Actually, the tail is so light I had to move the brick back to achieve this CG. The entire airframe with CF wing braces weighs about 5.5g, so it's pretty feathery light back there.

Jim,
Glad you like it. Now I just have to sort it out and figure out whether it can dispense with the rudder after all, what the CG is, etc.

Great design, talk about wing area !
I'd imagine the left/right to be very crisp without rudder, because of the continuation of lift throughout the length there. As I understand things, while it's wide and thin from front to back, the rear will continue to lift through a turn and so tailerons 'should' be an efficient means of sidling around small areas.
Loops could well be fun...how did the heavier one fair ?
Broadly speaking, i'd think you could base flight on a Nutball or other large wing area model.
Anyhow..looking forward to video if you can and to the controls findings
