Vintage Dumas Hipro Soarer

Just got my vintage Dumas hipro out of storage and redid the fuse. with a bubble canopy. Flying surfaces as built in the late 70's. Getting ready to fly it finally after many years.

It was designed by Harley Michaelis of Genie fame.

I have an old magazine with a full page add of it. But I didn't know it was designed by Harley. Just like I didn't know the electronic's for Gibson's L6S guitar were designed by Bil Lawrence. But I digress.

The span is 100". Fuselage was two pieces of glass that you bonded together inside with tape and then finished on the outside. Wings are traditional wood construction.

Dumas HiPro Soarer

Many thanks to all that commented.

I changed the original canopy to the bubble cause I thought it had a better look to it.

appreciate your comments

That's a blast from the past. I had a HiPro back in the mid 70's (one of my first RC planes). The only surviving photos of it are before it was actually completed. I eventually painted the fiberglass on the fuse blue to match the fin. Radio system was an E-K Logictrol LRB setup. It only had a few flights before hitting the only light pole in a huge field. I kept the wings for quite some time, but never did a rebuild.
