Oh and I had the impression you still hauled water using a rope and bucket. How did I ever get that idea????

Maybe I am watching too many westerns with duelling banjos.

Our well goes down through rock. It is only about 45' deep. In what is called a "wet spring". It has never run dry. But can get muddy at the bottom where the "foot valve" is located. Then it comes up two pvc pipes to the pump and storage tank. The foot valve got mud and grit in the control valve and leaked out the pressure, that caused us to lose prime. It is all back together, but now the pressure switch isn't working. Dang it. ahahahahahaha, I need to flush the toilet. ahahahahaha. And a shower wouldn't hurt. LOL.

Ah

How far up is your foot valve?

Is it a piston pump or a submersible?

If its sucking in dirt, your pressure tank and hot water tank likely have lots of dirt in them now, as well most likely the pressure switch does as well.

And if there is galvanized pipe anywhere; well it's likely all rusted to rat sh.t inside and plugging things up.

Plumbing sucks lol

The foot valve is floating up in the clear water now. It has no galvanized just because of rust and mud. The pressure valve is going to be replaced here in a little while. Thanks for the advise Ryan. Much appreciated. And yea, I agree, plumbing does suck. hahaha. Lee
