9503 Setup questions

Hey Guys,

Just want to make sure I'm doing it the best way.

I'm using the jr 9 channel rx and a 9503 radio.

I have a 4 servo wing and 2 elevator servos (split).

Aux3 is mated to aileron.
Aux2 is mated to elevator
Aux4 is mixed with Aux1 in mix 5(Flaps)
Gear port is used for gear
Rudder is used for rudder

Everything seems to be working fine however I don't like the fact you can't mate aux4. What's the deal with that?

Thanks for the help

Ben

Four servo wing, is it dual servos per aileron or something like a stick with flaps and ailerons?

There is a mix for the stick type programming to get the "crow" working, but there is no native mix/support for a dual servo per aileron mix. It can be done, but there is no trim on one side. Most guys are using either matchboxes or PE's if that's what you want to set up?

Sorry about that. Each wing has a flap and an aileron.

Ben,

Take a look at the article"Programming Guide for the JR XP9303 for the Hangar 9 Ultra Stick" found at: http://www.horizonhobby.com/ProdInfo...rogramming.pdf

You could have more versatility if you had mated the flaps together rather than mixing them. By mating them, you would have a common trim which mixing will not afford and you could have used them as ailerons. AUX4 is not mate-able and has not been since the 9303 was introduced. Use that channel for the retracts and use the GEAR channel for mating. One other thing, when a primary channel is mated with AUX3, you have an extra trim option. (This is also true for the FLAP channel when it is inhibited and mated to another channel.)

Awesome! Thanks Allan. Don't know why I didn't think of that.
