hello.
i just got my father a heng long tank for his 65th birthday, cause he is all about the military cars and big trucks. i figured id give him something small to enjoy inside and in the garden..

I got a Heng Long Snow leopard, with the BB-gun and smoke. (import from germany, since i live in sweden i really cant go to the store..)
We charged the battery for the tank and put in fresh ones in the controller.
when i try to start up: nothing happens, exept for the headlight flashing= not able to control the tank. thats it.

ive been trying to fool around with the radio(?)crystals, but i cant figure out what to do with them (looks like two male connectors, so its hard to get them to sync by connecting them(?)

ANY tips for this is good, id really like my dad to be able to enjoy his gift.

on the hand controller at the bottom are 3 press buttons, PRESS THE BUTTON ON THE LEFT.

The button With the key on? Tried, but still Nothing..

Due to the manual i think i somehow must get the headlight to stop flashing before i Will be able to control the tank..

Once the tank starts the headlights will come on solid. When you hit the key you should hear the engine start up sound. You may have a bad controller or even the reciever board in the tank.

there is no sound / no reaction whatsoever when i push the key-button.
is this one a basket case then?

Well, one thing I would check is the connection on the reciever board. It's the 3 wire connector going from the rx-18 to the other board. Maybe there is a bad connection there?

Check the crystals in both the tank and transmitter, reinsert them. The power LED on the transmitter is lit right?

how do i check the crystals? ive tried to remove and reinsert them, is there any other actions to consider here?

Basically remove and reinsert.......without ordering a second set, which is actually cheap, or putting yours in a known-good setup, there's no other way to check them.

Did you check if your crystals are matching ???
For example ; if you have a " 03 TX " on your transmitter ; you need a " 03 RX " in the tank ( you access the crystal by removing the battery cover ) ..
I would check that before opening the tank

Good point, kind of take it for granted they should match and that the tanks would be bench-tested before leaving the factory.

Do not take anything from HL for granted.

IMO you have more chance of being bitten by a lettuce
