R/C 2.4Ghz pushed to 20km
This is what a Maxi swift loaded with 10Ah and a lot of help from onboard electronics

Awesome. What patch antenna did you use? Was it
http://www.rangevideo.com/index.php?...1fdb96eb322964 ? Also, I'm curious as to how much you adjusted the antenna during flight. It seems like after 15km your RC went down pretty rapidly, but then at 18km your signal became stronger again. If it is indeed that sensitive to your direction, then I can only imagine how helpful having waypoints would be. Also, when did you start getting alarms on the built-in telemetry alerts and have you adjusted them? |

1Watt booster. I was testing a 10dBi home made antenna. However I tested the RV patch to 10Km with the booster and signal was still strong. Unfortunately I didn't had the signal quality indicator on that test.
Next time i go flying will test the limit of the RV patch. Note that I don't think that it is safe to go so far like I did in this video. Unless you have an autopilot on-board. |

Absolutely awesome Alex, you have to love the Maxi Swift for LR flights.
I love the Landing Gear Down indicator on the OSD is that available for us mortals?
