Still considering it but it may not be required. I was looking at a shoulder wing version to let us access the inside of the fuselage through the wing saddle which would also free up a lot of room in the fuselage. With the removable wings (two piece) the only structure inside the fuselage will be wing spars running between the wings like I have on the Osprey. That leaves a whole lot of space for payload and batteries etc.

Cant wait Jimmy... I have plans for the Foamaroo already!
Can you divulge any more information on your pan/tilt system?
Will it fit a block camera?

Hi Chance,

The pan system at this point is too small for the camera that you referred to and is more suited to the mini FPV cameras. As time permits I'm going to develop a full pan/tilt system that will interchange with the nose dome on the Foamaroo.

Thanks Jimmy, the nose dome idea is just what I was thinking
Ive seen some nice gimble cameras (worth more than my car) which slot onto a tube fuse, I hope to replicate it for the Jackaroo... just need to get my filthy hands on one

Thanks, Chance.

I know there are a bunch of people wanting the Foamaroo right away but I don't want to release it until I'm happy with it. I should have a firm release date this weekend after I test fly the removable wings. We're having our annual bout with high winds here in Kansas (no trees to stop the wind!) and I'm hoping they'll drop below 20 knots this weekend.

Thanks Jimmy.
Is the mount "open" or will it have a ball or streamlined fairing?

Jimmy, Great work by you and your team. I was getting ready to purchase a flying wing. Looks like I now need to wait for yours.

Will the pan/tilt system your designing for this airframe be stabilized? Or have the option to add a gyro or stabilizing system later? Do you think it's even needed? The wing looks pretty darn stable.

Looks like there are thunderstorms and wind in the forecast for this week. Hopefully you'll find a break in the weather to do more testing. Should clear by Saturday, that might be the day.

Keep up the good work!

Cheers

The pan system will simply plug into the existing nose cone as an assembly that can be removed for access. It can be rotated 90 degrees during installation to be used as a tilt mechanism and the camera will fit through a slot in the fiberglass dome. Of course it will be able to be used behind the clear dome as well.

I'll be making a full pan/tilt mechanism that will replace the nose section in the near future but that's on the back burner until the Foamaroo design is complete and I've filled existing orders.

Imdone,

If all goes well this week I should be ready to start taking orders in two weeks. The only delay I can foresee would be a delay in receiving parts ordered for the kits from my suppliers.
