started mine , I purchased 2 kits one arrived ok the other had a lot of
dings that needed to be filled and painted, Home Depot does a
great job with color match - 2.99 you get a jar with enought
to paint several models, and a perfact match
I didn't like wing wires so I added two hard wood spars , next
to the the 2 very thin fatory spars. so no wing wires will be needed.
I also added flaps , its almost completed I just need to decide
how to power it ,I have a couple of diffrent motor's but will
most likly use the 2408-21's one powers my 26 oz tiger moth
very well so 2 should power this well .
should finish tomorrow , I removed the lousy decal by putting a
hot towel on it and it just lifts up
on the rudder I cut the end of the exit tube ,changed angle and
put vasiline on the rod -- better but still a lousy set up

Looks good pulsery2k1! Honestly, you won't need flaps...this bird can fly so slowly it a joke!

I agree. I slowed my down to a crawl before landing which was very nice. I also had it literally hovering still while flying into about a 5 mph headwind.

I think I will try the Home Depot color match to touch up the wing screws, etc. Thanks for the tip!

I sort of knew I didn't need the flaps , but thought they would look nice
I decided to try to improve the ugly motor pods so I cut the end's
off made a fire wall and will try to make more scale cowls
should finish today and try flying it tomorrow.

[B][SIZE="4"]converted to a C-215 [/SIZE][/B]?

99% done , only 3 of the wing bolts will line up
but it looks good -- I could not stand there cowl's
and didn't want to waste time making new ones
so I converted it to a C-215 round engine
I just need to fix wing bolt and hopefully the weather will
be nice to fly it tomorrow

I have equipped both my Guanli Catalina and CL-415 with differential throttles. I also have the rudder channel mixed with ailerons to allow coordinated turns. From my expiences with the Catalina the aircrafts' rudder now seems to be redundant, in other words its a waste of a servo! I now fly the plane with no rudder input at all all turning is accomplished by throttle on the water and by a combination of throttle/ aileron in the air. I have now disconnected the rudder pushrod and secured the rudder to neutral on my CL-415 and will see how she flys. Has anyone else had similar findings?

dont know yet, but i have the exact same scenario in mind for my CL415 ... the rudder watter fin is a waste of gramms and will get ript off on ground so i remove it including its control rod... also the rudder linkage was so poor ! change it with full efficient carbon rod ... i may kept the rudder opperational + your throttle mixing & also mix with aileron (i'm a poor pilot that like to fly with one stick only )

Huntingfield- can you expand on how you do the mixing? I assume you have differential ailerons, so each aileron has one PWM channel. Then you also have two throttle channels; could one be the channel that you would ordinarily use for the rudder? I have a Hitec Eclipse 7 and every channel except 5 can be mixed, so I could use 1 and 6 for the ailerons and 3 and 4, or possibly 3 and 7 for the throttles.
