heh heh i thought the same on the minature pilot... bit of a let down when you open the canopy... although the sliding canopy & landing gear/doors look nice
personally though, i'm happy enough with mine

sequencer turned up today- yay!
but i'm not having any luck with correcting the spinner...

lol
i had inside word a couple of months ago that foamie warbirds will be well over 2000mm later this year

under 2 metres is enough for me, 1700mm in a warbird is just nice... the cost for batteries, replacement servos, landing gear etc just gets too much

mind you, a 2.3 metre warbird would be freakin awesome to fly!
Rob, imagine the detail you could go to town on with a plane that size!!

Geez, I'd never finish...as it is, I'm constantly fixing little detail on Stormy Weather almost DAILY!!

I'll be watching to see what comes out, but right now, since the FMS P40 and this one, I am a convert. Never thought much about them before these two models, my research has drawn me to the ACFT type.

My sequenser turned up the other day.
And it sucks!!!
The Swedish custom forced me to pay allmost 19 euro to have it.
19 euro for a thing that should have been included from the beginning
Someone had stated the value to 55 dollar on the envelope, for a thing that supposed to be free.
So when the spinner turns up i suppose that it will cost me the same?
40 Euro extra to get me a plane that can fly?
This is wrong

Drop CS a line and explain it to them, I don't know how it stands, whether a value has to be declared or not but they need to be aware, I will ask from my end. I do know that "gift" on the label winds Customs up and they will charge you, China has been doing this so much in recent years they just don't believe it anymore, I was told by a UK customs official that "gift" is the one thing guaranteed to make them slap an import tax on a package.

Right then...I'm waiting on my lettering to be redone in white, it arrived in grey and Callie is fixing it for me...gotta love that girl...and so I tinkered a bit tonight, I've painted a quarter pane on each side of the cockpit and installed a pitot tube. Looks pretty good.

I've decided to hold off on any cockpit detail for the time being, but am fussing over the exterior. Also tried some sticker backing paper for the hubs.

Truly a work of art ! I hope they keep this bird in shops for a while in stead of making a quick turnover and then cancelling production like they do with so many other planes.

If i get one I will make it into the Dutch SNAFU.

, thanks TW....yes I will, after my brother has done the maiden.

I took the pic this morning, the paint had dried on my hub cap, so I test fitted it.

Looks OK to me so I'll go with that. ALSO, I am replacing the CRAP elevator servo with a Hi tec HS-82MG servo.

Hello

Hello everyone,

I'm a big fan of P-40 since I was a child and I'm very excited about this
one. I am following this discussion since page 18.

Scott, your participation here is certainly essential. Thanks for that.
Andy, it looks you did a spetacular job.
Rob, your mods are marvelous, extraordinary.
Bajora, I'm anxious waiting for the video of the second flight. Good luck
on it.

I bought mine on last friday, so I think I would receive the sequencer and the new spinner on the same package. I hope so.

I would like to start a new discussion here: batteries. Do you reckon
that a 5000mAh shall be too heavy? Would it fit on the battery compartiment?

HK recomends a 4000-4500 mAh. Taking the Turnigy nano-tech series as basis, there is a difference of 145g comparing the 4Ah to the 5Ah:

730g Turnigy nano-tech 4000mah 6S 25~50C
795g Turnigy nano-tech 4500mah 6S 25~50C
875g Turnigy nano-tech 5000mah 6S 25~50C

What do you think about this?
Does anybody recomends another battery?

Thanks in advance.
Good flights for all.

DG
