Your All time favourite 3d vids / Pilots

This one is a bit like the 3d video throwdown BUT

This thread is about putting down your favourite video- and you can only have ONE! Feel free to say what it is that inspires you in these vids.( I like to compare pilot's flying styles to guitar great's styles)

Right now i am dialling in an Extra 260 - and i just love this video by one of my favourite pilots - Chris Jewett

- the Eric Clapton (Slowhand) of 3d RC

- because he's got a slow flying style (i think he's just leveraging the wing's lift) that belies the complexity of the moves he is doing at the time.
So much control through so many weird angles,

Well Matt that is a huge compliment and it kinda makes me blush a little I hope I can live up to the Eric Clapton comparison!

For me though a real revelation in 3D flying came from Daniel Holman. You see so many 3D videos and we are all trying to master the same things. Very few actually raise the bar. Daniel has pushed the envelope of what is considered 3D and added lot to the agenda of many pilots. His videos have got me working on being precise, controlling snaps better, combining roll/snap/spin, rolling cork screws and generally just presenting the airplane so that it is always in an attitude that looks good!

It's hard to pick one video but this one has a lot of unique maneuvers in it:
Extreme Flight Edge 540T EXP 2011 (5 min 46 sec)

As for a guitar player comparison - How about Hendrix.. I'm not sure Daniel himself would approve of that comparison but as an influential figure in the development of modern electric guitar music I think it draws a good parallel.

Good Flying!

Yuri Higuchi. It's always a pleasure when he shows up to the field.

Aerofundan's stuff looks like Hendrix - a little wilder and looser perhaps

and Daniel Holman is more like Jimmi Page - awesome moves with a little more precision.

maybe 3d flying should be renamed

" precision 3d flying"

as there is often a mix of precise flying (ke figure eights etc) and come to think of it - doing 3d nicely does actually require alot of precision and timing on the sticks

- Perhaps 3d is simply precision flying beyond the stall.

Chris is def my favorite pilot as well. He's got some of the best skills but he's also one of the first guys on here to help anyone with any question. He's def an asset to this hobby. This is my fav vid. We had a blast filming it. It's one u don't see everyday.

I dont think there was that much pressure on "slow hand" Thats the thing about chris when he flies it's all about having fun. If he crashes that just adds to the fun. Something to laugh at. I will say there was one moment when we had a good laugh. Of course u dont see that footage We had to get legal permits to fly the extra slick from twisted hobbies in the lock. We did ask the proper authorities about flying on the lake and they said they saw nothing wrong with it. If u haven't seen that vid check it out on the xtra slick post

Is this my all time favorite? I don't know.....but it the one I always come back to when I want to see awesome flying. Also has good music, and I like how the rolling harriers at the beginning seem to be in beat with the music.

This one is pretty cool, just because I dig the plane and love the tune!

I was really wanting a Green MX, however whenever I see the Red ones, it's changing my mind... I like it when the Pilot sstep up closer to the plane during those Harriers.

2009 TAS Chris Brislin Freestyle

Here's the routine I keep going back to time and time again (several videos of this available).

IMHO: It's about the best example of over all routine... a great blend of maneuvers and music (aerial choreography).
Chris is an outstanding showman!
