Have you ever seen a single line glider kite called the Emong? Check it out at http://www.chicokites.com/store/inde...&productId=517

I wonder what you think of that as a vector conversion?

new line of 2 D vectorkites

working on a new line of 2-D vectorkites:
rotators with 2 D-units.
basic of my first attempt was the Barell Roll from NewTech-kites (item 55027)
size: 96cm x 91cm.
The Barell Roll is a boxkites which rotates around his middle-rood in the air.
line is attached at the top of the middle-rood.

Vectorflyer,

How are you attaching the servo to your vector-unit frame? It looks like some sort of servo mount, but where did you buy it?

I bought a diamond kite and I will try to convert it to a vector kite. It has a 76 x 79 cm sail and I will change the fiberglass rods to carbon tubes and set it up to fly with the longer end facing forward. I will let you know how this turns out. I am thinking of using carbon box beams for the vector unit frame. I have to see what they have at the local hobby shop.

Vectorflyer,

I will be glad to post some pics when I get something working LOL. We will see how this goes. So for your servo mount. You glued the 2 mount pieces to the flat carbon then servo fits in the slot held in by the screws. Is that correct?

that`s correct,
other possibility is to glue the complete servo at the flat carbon with speed-clue.

hi x-heli
thanks for sharing photos with us.
i see no "curve" in the keel-rood and the motor seems to be to fare away from the sail. if you don`t like to cut your very nice built vectorframe down use a bigger sail.
see my very good flying Eddy-kite for example

Vectorflyer,

It might be hard to see in the picture but I have a shock cord pulling the sides up. If that is what you mean by curve in the keel-rod. The motor is about 20 cm (8 inches) above the sail which is about 78x76 cm. How big is the sail in the picture on post #87? I was thinking about getting a bigger kite. I have to work out the issues with the servo arm breaking. I guess they were too brittle.
