Great find! It's like CAD for kites. It even tells you if you don't have enough lift or if your design is unstable.

i built a new 2-d-vector-unit for my dual line stuntkites. in compare with my 3-D-unit, i set the unit extremly down, near the sail. the frame is made of 5mm cfk and 2x20mm flat cfk. Both kites fly very stable, even in high wind. i will add some videos later.

video was made early morning. stuntkite "jive" from HQ-kites converted with 2-D-unit.
lipo 850 mAh, motor: original premier V 780, weight: 380 gramm, flight-time: 11 minutes (throttle nearly closed during the complete flight-time, motor is very strong for these lightweight kite)
The kite fly`s amazing stable. at the end of the video i made some 2-D-acrobatic like flying a "helicopter": steering full right (ore left), throttle open....if you put steering neutral the kite recovers.

hi flattermann,

the vectordart (white-black-red sail) is an self-built item i got from ebay.
it was first a self-sewing rhombus kite with a long tail. I cut the tail and fly the kite now up-side-down.

the black-blue sail is a kite from the german manufacture Elliot. They don`t make this nice kite called "diva" any more, but i have some of them.
if you like, i will send you one.
.......hope the flight-characteristic are not "diva-like", but i want to know how slim you can make a vector sail.....

the kite is always a little bit swinging from the right to the left side, maybe i have to set the motor a little bit down, maybe the sail-shape is to slim. I fly the vectorpeak with the 2-D-unit from my vectorman-kite, but thinking about building a complete new vector-frame.
these kite makes spectacular rolls, so the kite rocks (swings) and rolls.
....i find out, if i fly a little bit left before i turn into a right roll and fly the roll with the wind (not against the wind, as in the video) the kite even rolls better.
with reduced throttle the kite fly`s very slow, i can park it in the sky...
...but if i open the throttle the kite mutates to a speeder.
by the way, the kite has a very good gliding-rate, so flight-time is 12 minutes with the original premier 780er motor and a 750 mAh lipo.

these rolls are impressive, especially because You have flown them only with 2 Ch. right or left.
Would like to see it flying as a real 'Speed Dart' with the 3D - Vector Unit at full throttle, and elevator increasing a little down

a delta or deltabox with a wingspan from 1,80 to 220cm is a very good beginner 2-D kite.

you can buy a ready to run 2-D deltabox now from Premier (Premier Delta Box Sport, lava or citrus).
I think, it`s the first RTR kite with a 2-D-vector unit from a big company.
i had the possibility to make test flights with this new premier kite.
it works well, i was enthusiastic about the flight performance.
i made a video, show you next time in this thread.

i had the possibility to make test flights with the new 2-D-vector kites from premier. think, premier is the first big company who offers rc-kites with 2-D-vector control.
great job, premier !
by the way, the boys (and girls?) from premier are clever, using 3-D-rc-kites (delta-box and canard) for 2-D. difference: the kites framed with inexpensive fiberglass (no carbon). even the 2-D-gimbal is using inner parts of the 3-D-gimbal.
premier build a new simple but nice looking carbon frame for the 2-D-vector-unit, with the option of interchangeability, means you can later change from the power-sport-unit (2-D) to a generation II (3-D unit). measurements are the same, that makes sense, congratulations premier!
