Twin 55mm edf twin setup getting hot ??

I AM USING THIS MOTOR(AEORC.COM Model#ADH300XL EDF MOTORS AND 55MM FANS) IN THE HC HOBBY MIG-29 TWIN SETUP WITH TWIN EXCEED RC 40 AMP ESC AND 2200MAH 3S 30C LIPO AND THE ESC'S AND BATTERY GOT REALLY HOT,THE MIG FLEW NICE WITH LOTS OF THRUST BUT WHY DID MY ESC AND BATTERY GET SO DARN HOT, THE ESC'S ARE MOUNTED OUTSIDE THE AIRFRAME TO BREATH??? ANY ANSWERS WOULD BE GREAT !!! Model#ADH300XL EDF MOTOR FOR 55MM EDF (TWIN ), EG: NOT ENOUGH BATTERY,NOT STRONG ENOUGH ESC'S, TO MUCH BATTERY ??? CAN'T FIGURE THIS ONE OUT ?

Bigger ESC's would run cooler as they wouldn't be as close to their limit. 60 Amp speed controls would probably run a lot cooler. How long does the plane fly on that battery? If the battery drains too fast or doesn't have enough cooling, it will get hot.

Please try not writing in all caps, it is hard to read.

Which kv motor is that, the 5250 or the 4250? If it is the 5250, it should draw about 30 amps with a 55mm fan; the 4250 would clearly be less. In either case, that current is well below the limits of the battery, ESC and motor. Are you certain the fan isn't rubbing inside the duct? At full throttle, that would be about a 4 minute flight; you didn't fly more than 4 minutes, did you?

No, it was close to 4 minutes but think the timing on esc's should be set to medium ?? I have the 5250's in the 55mm edf's, need to know if these motors are 2 or 6 poles or what ?? Timing setting could also have a heat effect right ??

New Thunder Power 30c 2700 3s Lipo, was going to try a higher c rating battery ? Thought it was a 2200 mah Lipo, it's a 2700 ! Mostly flew at 1/2 throttle for this Jet was Groov'n, Landing this HC Hobby Mig-29 is a Blast, just glids in with the nose up !! afraid to make it to nose heavy with a bigger Lipo, seems to fly so nice with a 3s 30c, adding weight is making Plane handle a little harder and making it touchy in flight. The old equipment was somewhat junk with 2 20 amp esc's and 4300kv edf motors/55mm fans. New set-up was overkill I think, not trying to go 100 mph just that old system had lots of under powered problems (Junk!!)

Playing around with the timing and still gets hot, esc's at 140 degree's!! Lipo was 120 degree's and motors at 100 Degree's. That was on the bench without any airflow over the esc's or the Lipo. I only have a Ton of 2200 30c batteries nothing higher than 30c ! Waiting for a couple 40-45 C rated Lipo's that I ordered !!! What about a 25-30c 4 cell Lipo ?????

Sorry for the caps ! I have a pair of 55 amp esc's ordered and a few 40 & 45 C Lipo's ordered too. Don't want to pull motors to swap, will be a real pain to tear them out so will have to add the weight of bigger esc's and Lipo, luckily the new edf's were 80 grams lighter so will move the esc's as far back as possible and help compensate the added Lipo weight in the nose, need the same C.G. for this plane flies so smooth, glides nose up and Dead-stick all the way till 2 feet off ground and Flar-out for nice Landing's, So the bigger esc's it is !!
