The Graupner mini jet does appear on ebay time to time, I know as I just sold one new in pack. Hobby Lobby??? Full spec NQD's are now appearing on ebay too.

does anybody know where i could get some standard replacement impellers from , ive transplanted the drive unit into a scratch built dory hull , just sucked up some blanket weed & broken a blade off the impeller !

I bought another NQD from ebay Australia only $45 free delivery.

My new one is white.

My new one is not white! The add showed a white one & I got another bloody yellow one!

There was someone selling them on ebay for a while, not sure if they still are. I made a new one from a turned down plastic prop that works well.

The EBay seller was superhobbystore but they don't seem to have any left.

wparsons , could you please tell me what prop you cut down ?

Mine was just a plastic 32mm prop, took lots of cutting/filing to get it down. I put it in a dremel tool and used a big file to get the diameter right, then filed it smooth/sharper by hand.

thank you , ive measured the stock shaft at about 2.5 mm ? so can look for a 32mm dia m2 prop for modding . does anybody sell a metal prop for the purpose ?

The stock shaft is 2.3mm. You can "upgrade" the shaft to 3mm or 3.2mm for more prop choices if you can find some small bearings or bushings that fit the drive and the nozzle/stator. At the very least you will have to drill out the impeller shaft hole in the drive to accommodate the larger shaft.

I have never seen a metal impeller for these boats, but I would be interested to see how a ground down 3-blade metal prop would perform if correctly balanced and sharpened for the task.

I used a bushing to fit the 1/8" shaft prop to the 2mm shaft (1/8" OD brass tubing), and also drilled a hole through the shaft to put in a pin instead of running a drive dog. I epoxied it all together and sanded it to balance it.

My mate that owns RC Garage in Melbs, bought two NQD's & was told that there was a metal impellor available for them & that he'd get me one when he orders one.

Has anyone else heard of these?

I have yet to see them too.

Never heard of a metal impeller made for these. That would be a great upgrade though!
