A higher kv will work, but you just end up with more noise and more heat.

Finished mine today. Ran her in the kiddie pool for leak testing and the pump leaks like a sieve near the transom. I didn't pull the pump completely out when I built her up. I'll try to use some CA 1st, then shoe goo the heck out of it if that doesn't work.

I'm glad I'm using the hole for the antenna for my drain plug

Got mine @ xenonproject.com

I'm using the 2040 4800kv motor and 35 amp seaking esc from Hobbypartz. I also bought the same setup from Hobbyking, but who knows when or if it will ever show up.

I bought some turnigy (USA warehouse HobbyKing) 2S 2650mah 30C. Good size and weight for this lil boat. If you can afford it, get the highest C rating you can.

What do you define as fast? It'll never go much above ~25mph, the jet drive is just too small to get going any faster.

If it's going much slower, there's something wrong in how it's setup. Your motor on 2s should be plenty quick as far as these boats go. Are you getting the full throttle range (esc calibrated to your transmitter?)?

Since I have a bunch of zippy 2100 35c and some 2700 30c turnigys I am going this route

-Tacon 2848-380L 2300kV motor
water jacket
-SeaKing 35A water cooled ESC

Outside of getting some tubing, not sure on size. Is there any additional parts I need? I have a hxt900 servo.

Make sure to set your throttle range with your transmitter and esc. Could be the problem?

I used aquarium airline tubing, it has a larger inner diameter for lots of water flow. Also get yourself some Grim racer speed grease to grease the impeller shaft. you'll want some grease behind the rubber bushing to try and keep water from coming in. Maybe a waterproof rx box too? I'm using the traxxas e-revo/slash rx box.
