I've made it a rule. Have at least one good (mad) idea per lifetime. Perhaps that was mine If so I can die happy. But not for a long time I hope.

Possible boats for sale

Hi Gang
I'm not sure, but while I was searching for my first Tear Into, I noticed a bundle for sale on RC Univ.........
The sale posting expired but the stuff is still available. I PMmed the seller and he assured me of that. I'm not sure he knows his sale post is expired. I have copied it the best I could and made it into a PDF file.

He seemed to want to sell all as a single bundle, but maybe time has softened that stance. Here is what he had. It looks like the brushless outrunner that I wanted to try.

Yeah as I look at that listing again, it is the ADS300 not the 400 that he used. I believe the 400 would be much snappier?

If I didn't have a boat coming, early next week, I sure might have jumped on all or part of that bundle.

If one was starting from scratch, had two hands (the radio) and lived in the same area that looks like a very fair deal. I don't qualify (on all 3 counts) but there must be hundreds if not thousands who do. Surprised it hasn't sold yet.

And the 300 would have been the better choice anyway. For all the reasons we all told you when you first came aboard.

Have you considered using some thin nylon or even cheaper poly rope along with some of those cheap little Dollar Store foam swim thingies, (round and about 3 or 4 foot long with a hole down the middle) and maybe some big fishing sinkers to hold it in place at a few points? That might work at least to help define some turns or corners.

You dirty dog, you got my mind spinning, trying to help you develop a easy/cheap/movable race course for RC Boat Races

We use something similar for the buoys for multi-racing. And scale steering courses. Something like that might be the way to go.
Chi's a 'bear of BIG brain' rather than 'of very little brain' like me. No doubt he'll come up with something. He's got plenty of time 'till the return of soft water

They are called "fun noodles", and we use em for everything..all my boats use em for flotation, and we put em on a stick for bouys..they work well..1 foot of it will float a person..great flotation material, easy to cut and shape, weigh nothin, too.

mad where do you take your fast boats is there any clubs in ayrshire?

it would make taking my cen aqua jet (with a 1600kv 3500w motor) out a little more interesting if there was some other boats in the water.
