I'll use a true WM 400 70mm EDF with a Jetsceamer 1400. There'll be a single exhaust hidden between the scaled exhausts of the model.
Of course, that's a big work, but i think it's the price to pay to make this kit a true jet !
Looks sweeet! More please!

Rafale Video

Filmed a mates Rafale on the weekend.

RCLander 4S setup (and I'm sure he can let you know the rest of the details).

Unfortunately may camera is suffering a few issues at the moment and I forgot to turn the mic on (so put in an all time edf favourite)

Cheers

Draws 60-65A, not much spare ESC capacity and thats why I'm using the UBEC. Have to manage the throttle a little otherwise the battery turns into a balloon (turnigy 4S 40C 3000mAH), but the Rafale just flies beautifully across a wide speed range from very slow to reasonably fast. I love the fast axial rolls! I get 4 minutes plus some reserve if I haven't been too enthusiastic.

The inlets ducting are scratchbuilt... I made some simple calculations and drawings before carving them from Styrofoam. Then, i covered them with brown adhesive tape for cardbox before waxing. Glassed them and used some acetone to remove styro before pulling the adhesive tape...

@ GOODY63 : Nice video !

Work is progressing slowly on my Rafale... Glassed and sanded all the airframe an made a new scaled canopy (threw the one from the box to it's right place : trash can). Still have to glue some details (canon mouth, OSF, SPECTRA, Flight refuelling probe, aerials, arrestor hook, MICA missiles) before the paintjob. And also to detail cockpit...
As there will be a single exhaust for the WM400 EDF, hidden between the scaled exhausts, i also had to make a fiberglass adapted piece (same method as for the inlets).

Aircraft ready to go without battery 955g. I use two different batteries Turnigy 4S 3000mAh 40C at 370g or Turnigy 4S 3300mAh 30-40C at 385g (both including EC5 connector). I went without landing gear because I'm using the 68mm RC Lander fan from HobbyKing and didn't want it getting too heavy.

My solution is more radical!

I finally bought one of these, and so far have about 4 flights on it. Its not super fast but it flies fantastic and sounds great, plus I'm only into it about $115.00.
Its powered by a Turnigy 2226-3000 motor, Turnigy plush 80amp esc, Change Sun 10blade fan and a Turnigy 3600 30c 4s lipo. The servos are HXT 900s and the pilot is from Toys-R-Us. I did reinforce the missile rails with carbon fiber, and opened up a cheater hole on the bottom which also help with the handlaunches. The CG was set at 365mm from the T.E. of the flap.

Very nice Flip Flop - good job. Can you share with us what you AUW and how many amps that motor/fan combo is pulling?
Thanks!
