microheli swash works great, I can't comment on any other offerings manufacturer's though. replace the tail boom with a 6 inch x 2mm solid carbon rod to reduce blowout and improve durability. I also highly recommend Airtimercproducts@gmail.com skids, they don't break when you look at them wrong like stock or kbdd offerings

I have a question about the FBL controller behavior: on my only other FBL bird, if after power up and initialization you pick the heli up and tilt it, the servos will move the swash to counter the change in attitude. Also, if you move the cyclic stick after init, the swash won't come back to center. Both of these behaviors are normal for a FBL system. But the MCPX doesn't behave like that -- it reacts the way a flybarred heli would. No reaction to tilting the heli by hand, and swash returns to center after releasing cyclic stick. I am very careful to avoid moving the heli for a few seconds after plugging the battery in.

Is this normal for the MCPX? Or do I have a problem?

I think the stabilization only kicks in when the motor is actually running.

Thanks. I thought that might be the case. I suppose my relative success at hovering in the entryway last night should have told me the controller was doing its job, because I'm just not that good!

Just checked the blade tracking again, lengthened left aileron link and elevator link by one turn, blades look much better at mid-stick now. Also just learned about reversing one blade to do the parallel blade tip check, will do that later to verify my observation.

Have stuff to do today, so may not get to fly.

Hi guys, I just got the MCPX and she has a vibration while in low throttle, the problem goes away in stunt mode. Any ideas on how to correct this?

make sure feathering spindle is tight, make sure the main gear is pushed all the way up, make sure blade grips are tight and double check to make sure blades don't have any hair line cracks, grab a blade and use light pressure and manually try to adjust the pitch (without the battery) there is always a little play with the stock swash-e, but if the main gear-e moves then thats your problem. congrats on the purchase. if all else fails, try the other set of blades to see if it goes away, maybe they are just way out of balance. keep us posted h.d., before you know it you will be cutting the grass in the kitchen/living room!

thats normal, its like a tire thats out of balance, you feel it at one speed but not at others, just depends on how bad the problem is, on another note, had my mcpx out, and i think i jinxed myself, i think my motor is losing power, or my batteries are just getting crappy, i think its the motor because i have different brands of batteries, so the odds of all of them going are rare, plus i graphed them on my pl8 and they seem healthy. there is no doubt this little heli is hard on batteries, the best thing to do is keep the flight times down as much as you can, I'm personally happy with 4 mins, but i think five mins is okay if you not doing hard 3d. if you wanna get out on monday we can check it out and compare it to mine.

good point, i think his heli is brand new with only one flight or so on it, but a cracked or warped main shaft could definately do it.

Also make sure that you dont have the blades too tight. Could be holding fhem out of balance until high rpm.
