I like the new design. I've had the cap of my tail motor break off in a crash...
Happened on my 2nd flight so was pretty bummed about that.

Or not made exactly right...kind of like the swashes. Some swash balls are tight some aren't. Both of my b grips were way tighter than my other older grips, which makes my mcpx's fly crisper

Awhile back I think I saw a comment that the swash was being redesigned. Was that BS, wishful thinking or a memory failure on my part. I've seen nothing about it lately.

I thought the weakness of the rear swash ball would be addressed so a redesign made sense but it is easy to fix if it breaks (with the pin fix) or prevented with a bend in the rear arm.

Nop. My balls holds just fine but the main gear pops out quite often.
Hawe the new version with B grips and 25C lipos.

Stock vs. MH aluminum mainshaft weights, MH spool-up & flight-test

Awhile ago, someone asked about the weight of Microheli's aluminum mainshaft. Mine finally showed up & I just finished installing it. The weights include the collars & screws, but not the hub screws.

Stock shaft-- 0.56g
MH shaft ---- 0.71g

The collar is not symmetrical. I first installed it with the screw hole nearer to the head. After checking the fit of the main gear, I thought that the shaft should be sticking out of the gear a bit more than it was, so I reversed the collar so that the screw hole is nearer to the frame. I had to shorten the control rods by three turns each to restore zero pitch at mid-stick, but the gear fits much more snugly onto the shaft than it did before.

I spooled her up in my hand to check for vibration. She was smooth as butter! Definitely much smoother than with any of the c/f shafts I've had. The extra 0.15g was not noticeable in flight.

Setup:

MH mainshaft
MH swash
'B'-grips
Light blades
Dylan's Hyp 240 mount
Bare Hyp 240 cell

AUW: 45.60g

Silicon o-ring mods

I read about using some 001 silicon 0-rings on the servo-to-swash links and also putting 3 of them on the feathering shaft between the blade grips-- wow, what a difference. Bird flies really smooth!

Just came from my LHS and the shop owner said they just got something from HH saying there is a recall on the entire heli now. Anyone else heard of this?

I stopped by my LHS yesterday to pick up the MH aluminum mainshafts I had ordered. The owner didn't mention anything about a recall. As Bud noted, there is no mention of it on the website.

Some are still talking about the blade grip recall from months ago as if it is something new. It's old news and your shop must just now be getting around to reading their notice from HH telling them to remove the old stock with the original grips.

That would be my guess too.

Yea that is kind of what I was thinking too. I asked him if it was about the grips and he said no that you had to send the whole heli in to HH. I searched when I got home and couldnt find anything so just figured I would ask here to be sure.

Anyways, thanks for the responses and happy flying to all!
