Edubarca, that is a really nice plane. You are lucky, I don't think there is anyplace left here in the USA that we could run a old tongue muffler like yours anymore. Especially on a .61 engine. Way too much noise nowadays here.

I happen to have a engine like yours that I intend to rebuild with new bearings and a ring. But first I have to machine the exhaust port flat. When they made the engine, it must have apparently been before anyone was interested in mufflers and it was left uneven as cast. It came with a old Flow Through muffler which is loud too.

The Super Tigre G20-15 of 1970 vintage.
The fancy spinner nut was my first try with a lathe.

The one on the left looks like a French Rea 5 cm3.
The glow-plug looks like an original SDI from the famous hobby shop "A la Source des Inventions", now gone. It was the French equivalent of the famous British "308" run by Henry Nichols.

A 1970 Super Tigre G21-40 with an early machined MAG carb I have not seen anywhere else.
Also a 1960's Super Tigre decal.

Nice Supertigers there JMP_Blackfoot.
I think my favorite SuperTigre was the old G51 they used to make.
I remembered I still have a old 1960's era SuperTigre .56 engine. It has a Perry Carb on it now.

Earlwb : One of my favorite Super Tigre was a ringed G20-23 I sold long ago (togeteher with an Eta 15 Mk1 ) . I have a couple of the lapped version, but they are not quite so nice IMHO.

Twin-Stack : Five pages already. Good start, keep up the good work

The Sueva was a really neat engine, with side port induction, you could run the engine forward or in reverse no problem. But sometimes when hand flipping to start it would run in the wrong direction on you.

K&B .40R Formula 1 pylon race "Lee Custom" 1972

A pair of K/B .40'R' Formula 1 pylon race 'Lee Custom' engines. 1972 model. The first "Schnuerle ported" K&B engine made.

The special .40”R” edition engines have not been offered for sale to the regular modeller but has been specially made for the top formula one pylon teams wich were selected by John Brodbeck, owner of K&B and Mr. Clarence Lee.
These engines were the base for the later on produced K&B .40'S' version.

All K/B .40R engines were test run before they left the factory and needed to reach at least 19.000 rpm's or more, if not they were dismantled and kept for spare parts.

Interesting facts:
A total of 102 engines have been officially made, another 9 engines have been 'not officially' completed by a K/B employť, wich came out later on, when an engine with the same serial number as the official one came in for service. They kept record of the engines to who they were delivered.
Engine number 99 went to Mr. Peter Chinn, his test results were so impressive John Brodbeck Sr. asked not to publish these results so they would not disapoint other competitors, as they had to wait on the later produced .40'S' version.

This one is on my "to-be-tidied-up-some-day"-list...

An early, pre-"V-Series" Super Tigre G21/35, of .35 cu.in. (1956-1959)
Note the upright intake stub and the shallow head fins.
I don't know what the "56" indicates...not the displacement though, as a measure confirms it's a .35.
A nice old stunt engine, featuring a baffled piston with 2 rings.
