Hi Bob & Reggie,
I didn't think this engine would pose an ident. problem.
It's quite rare. It's the first version Bonnier 5 cc fixed compression, with a separate bolt-on head, instead of the blind cylinder used in the second version (my photo).
I think Reggie's French engines book says that this bolt-on head is the second version, but I (and Richard Dalby!) disagree. The book writers got their production dates wrong.
Anyway, the eBay engine is the first version Bonnier (with bits missing), and the second version is shown here.

That HAS to be Chas in disguise - so that's where he went !

It's FALSE Bob. I did originally mail the seller to tell him exactly what the engine was, but I think he received other mails and ended up inventing a "Dynamic Models" name! Oh dear! However, I think he did mention Gordon in his text, so all was not wasted.

Of course Bonnier, I should have known because if I remember well friend/collector L.Styfhals does have two both were mounted on a CL twin.
As for the French book, I did'nt bother to look this morning, on page 36 top picture shows the Bonnier 5cc 1ére version with bolted on head.

Yes of course. It must be the Duvel causing confusion at times ... I remember Gordon did work for Frog and ED and designed quite a few of the engines. He did write good technical articles for MEW. Met him once at the J.Goodall stand at the Watford do.
