Almost correct Bob, it's really a Flight 61 which was a Taipan 61 MkII with the mould altered to remove Taipan and add Flight on the transfer port so it then read Flight 61 II and given the gold anodised head. The name "Flight" came about because they were to be sold by Flight Models in the USA.

(With thanks to Maris's magic book ).

Thanks Brian, I stand corrected (I'm actually sitting though). Never believe anything you read on the net !
PS What about the "bee-hive" RJL above ?

A couple of viewers have said that I should forget about model engines, and get a life. Well, I happen to be a pet lover as well, and here's my dog - cute ain't he ?

Hi Bob, my "collection" is quite small, but by far this is my most prized engine. Is still NIB and really rare to find in any place.
The G 500 was a tuned version from the stock ST GS 40 in order to be used in Quickie 500 Pylon Racing events.

Info at : http://modelenginenews.org/ad/hope_p2.html

(both engines below appear to have non-standard NVA's, the one with the red tank also being set up for use in a model car)

Name this Mystery Engine Part and what its off....
(This is the backplate & venturi tube from the R/C version of the early 1960's ENYA 06. The round bit with the piece of wire through it operates the internal butterfly valve - the NVA is situated between it and the backplate, but the spraybar hole is at 90 deg. to the valve shaft)

Looks like two identical OS's doesn't it ? In 1964, the OS factory released the new Max H 35 Combat engine to take over from the Max III 35, which was getting too hot for stunt (replaced in 1963/64 of course, by the much milder running Max S35) and then again in 1965, they released the detuned Max H 35 aimed at general sport & R/C flyers. Both engines have a bronze bush main bearing with a single rear ball race and display beautiful workmanship, but look at the difference in the size of the venturi's ! The date (year) stamped under the lugs of these two is 65 for the Combat, and 66 for the standard H. Note the tiny letter "C" stamped under the numbers "35".
