Great Planes/Electrifly Fiberglass EDF F-16

Yet another entry into the F-16 EDF market, looks like this just came out:

http://www.electrifly.com/ductedfans/gpma1801.html

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXARXZ&P=7

Doesnt look too bad....but I hate the fact it has non-scale elevators rather than full stabs! Looks like the wing is bigger than scale for the size, probably for stability and wing loading considerations.

With only one picture, its tough to judge the intake, etc. but it appears to be bungee launch sans LG like the GP Evader.

Compared to Horizon's EDF offerings, Great Planes has a lot of catching up to do!

It looks nice and all, but honestly, why another F-16? Couldn't they have come up with something other than a plane that has been done to death? The least they could have done is make is give it the Thunderbirds scheme I'm not interested in it. I'm still waiting for an ME-262 or the Gloster Meteor. Anything but another F-16

I agree with all of your comments above, looks like they missed the mark on this one.

I understand its too small, but to there defence. Before I found this fourms, all I ever did was look at TowerHobbies web site/mags, as TowerHobbies is pushed on most new hobbiest.

So if you look at there web site, the only edf they sell are the GP L-39, and Evader, so Im sure they well sell a ton of them.

This jet will get most new hobbiest blood gooing.

It will be like last week, a guy who has never flown before walked up to me and ask if I could help him fly his new EBay f-16......

regardless if either is foam or fiberglass...its small and cost to much, oh not to mention the same generic general dynamics scheme.
i will wait til someone has one for sale for 50 bucks used.

The picture on electrifly's site looks a bit funny. It appears, to me, that the nose isn't quite long enough or the wing is too far forward. If it's the $220 that seems a bit high and I would rather get a HET F-16.
Does it have a cheater hole, not that that would bother me?

has a huge cheater whole. I picked it up at florida jets and just laughed at what a peice of crap it is. Its a very poor excuse for an F16. Het F16 much better.
