ALZRC 450 Pro kit/combo

This arrived this morning from HK-Parts.com:
http://www.hk-parts.com/alzrc-trex-450-pro-kit.html

Only took a few days by EMS.

First impressions are very good. Nice printed box, like they show on the site, vacuum wrapped in plastic. Odd, there is some main shaft spacers and a tail control pushrod, taped to the outside of the box. Will find out more about this, when I open the box.

Even though they refer to it now as ALZRC, I think the name came from AL2RC (Align 2 RC).

Mine is the kit version, but they also have a combo version (3800KV Brushless Motor and 40A ESC), as well:
http://www.hk-parts.com/alzrc-trex-4...esc-motor.html

I'm told by HK-Parts that the motor is up to the hardest 3D, and the ESC looks like the HobbyWing (Turnigy plush) version; but I already had plans for an Align BL450M and an HK blue 40A ESC (same as the Mystery one).

It's well under half the price for the same version of the Align 450 pro kit and HK-Parts told me they have a "no crap" policy, for quality. The guy I ended up speaking to, by using there contact us page, had perfect English writing skills, which was a plus, and was very eager to be of help.

So I'm going to put them to the test, since I've built several Align and HobbyKing kits.

I don't have the time for a full build thread, but I'll certain show more photos and info about the quality of the kit as I build it.

David

It gets better, with a printed manual in the kit.

Thanks David for the update and starting this thread.

I will keep a keen eye out on your findings. In particular the quality compared to the Align Trex 450. Please post any parts that you find not to be comparable .

Thanks...

Looking though all of the bags in this kit, you can't help but feel like you are opening an Align kit. Everything is nicely packaged for each section of the build.

One of the reasons I bought this kit was because the canopy and blades looked very good. In fact the only parts I bought to replace parts in this kit, is a metal tail control arm and a metal vertical stabilizer spacer.

Edit: I later found that the metal tail control arm was already standard in this kit.

I put the canopy on my current 450 pro (an HK (HobbyKing) and Align hybrid) and compared it to my Align 450 sport canopy (HC4105), I recently purchased, that is very similar. Other than the Align 550E, this is one of the best canopies I have received in a kit. The gloss is not quite as good as the Align canopy but it is definitely close and will be a keeper.

The blades are nicely packaged and look good. They also come with two tin foil balance stickers. The blades weight 21.66g and 21.85g. They look well made and feel quite stiff. The blades are all white on the bottom.

I forgot to mention, the tail control pushrod, attached to the outside of the box, is about 5mm longer than the one in the kit. Perhaps they were finding that not enough threads were being used on the ball links. A nice touch that they proved this, and shows that they want people to be happy with this kit.

I agree Davis the canopy and certainly the blades look very smart. They got my attention as well.

Okay, today we'll go through the accessories bag. Once again very nicely packaged and labeled.

Nice touch providing the plastic ball link removal tool, which wont scratch the balls, like the metal one's can.

The servo arm ball joints and other spares. I zoomed in so you could see the servo arm balls have a plastic thread. I prefer a threaded ball with a nut, but these plastic threads with a bit of CA should hold forever (Align used them on the 500 plastic mixer arms.

Plenty of "black" cable ties, three Alan keys and a Philips screw driver, which I suspect is for the tail blade holder screws. Again very thorough.

Next up we'll look at the head and fit all of the linkage rods, to see if there's any slop.

Looking good.

I am still trying to work out who ALZRC is

I think they are the mob that produces the Align parts?

All I know is that it's the newest kit on the market, and based on what I've seen so far, it's the nearest thing you will get to an Align kit. Certainly the experience for me so far, has been the same.

I can only hope by supporting them, that they will go on to make other kits, as well.

This is ALZRC

Hey David,

Thank you very much for putting all of this information on the web. It's nice to have someone provide such detailed information about the kit.

For all those concerned, I have created a BLOG entry for ALL About ALZRC. If you want to know more about them here it is.
ALL ABOUT ALZRC

Can't wait for you to finish the build.

I received my 450 kit yesterday as well. I'm also quite impressed with the way it looks. I am however looking for a programming guide for the esc. If anyone knows, please let me know as well. I also ordered the flb head for my kit, so this will be my first fbl helicopter. I'm told that they fly like a larger heli. We shall soon find out!

Thanks for this. It certainly filled in a few blanks for me. Please feel free to comment on anything here. I'm sure everyone would appreciate your input.

A build for me can take a while, due to family life and work commitments. Perhaps others can share their experience, as well, if I'm taking too long.

Glad to hear you have one as well, and obviously the combo, so you can let us know your experience with the motor and ESC.

If it's the ESC I think it is, then the attachment should help. I also think this programming card should work:
